Big 12 Tournament

5 of those 7 threes were from Matharu. It softened up that zone a bit because they had to extend out and pay more attention to
Matharu. As I’ve stated before, she changes the game with her outside shooting and did it once again tonight. Ebo was just a beast down low. Let’s go beat Iowa St ladies!!!

In the end it was only a 7 point game but at times it felt very much like a blowout. We had four players in double digits, hit 7 threes and went 25-28 from the line. How was it a 7 point game? Lol. I agree the game didn't seem near that close. Overall I think it was a good first game for us. I always like to see us "play our way into" a tournament, where we get better each game with the goal of peaking at the right time. Cleaning up those little mental mistakes and sharpening the saw a little more with each game is a part of doing just that.

Watching the replays, I actually noticed a lot of ISU fans in the stands cheering for KSU, which is not surprising as that's the support the underdog gets at neutral sites. But, let's be real; the ISU fans would rather their team face KSU than Texas based on the regular season results.
 
Well everybody hates Texas and the Big 8 schools seem to really bond over that. Of course the place was full of ISU fans and a lot of them stayed to watch our game. That’s why I’m saying it’s twice as hostile today.
Luckily Texas seems to thrive on that.

I sat across the aisle from a section of KSU fans and I think our defense frustrates them more than the players lol. Of course they were furious with the refs the entire game and nothing was a foul on them and everything was on us. Seriously wondered if this one guy was going to make it through the game without a heart attack or something and that was in the FIRST Qtr. He was redfaced the entire game ranting and raving and cussing. So I did a lot of cheering on about how good the defense was to egg him on and he took the bait.

Thank you. He was two rows below me across the aisle so it was pretty easy to take the high road lol. That and Texas taking care of business on the court.

As usual, Texas is the only team I hear a smattering (or sometimes more) of boos in the arena pregame. And I definitely saw more ISU fans doing the horns down than anyone. They need to be swept as well.
 
Does anyone know, is our game with ISU only on ESPN+? It seems like it has been on network TV in years past, but maybe not. Frustrating.
 
I have the feeling this game is going to be intense. Just off the vibes of this Baylor vs Oklahoma game I bet both coaches are going to be fired up today.
 
Well, our down low play is hurting us...both offensively and defensively. I can't tell from the broadcast whether Iowa State is actually doing something special or we're just not playing well. I mean, Lauren had 17 points yesterday...Hope Coach Vic rights the ship at halftime.
 
Typical Tx offense. And I'll take it. Have to do a little better on defense. State is shooting too well from both 2 point and 3 point range
 
Down and dirty tighten your chin strap kind of game the rest of the way. Vic' s team is built for it. Hope they can bring it home.
