Anyone watch Democrat convention?

Sometimes I actually wonder if the Dems really want to win this year. I know. It’s a crazy take. But look at their candidates...

There is not an individual in this country that can honestly deny the obvious with Biden: He is mentally compromised, and eroding quickly. I lost all respect for Mark Cuban when he denied that fact on Hannity perhaps six weeks ago.

Harris brings nothing to the table. Not likability. Not charisma. She’s a poor speaker. Tons of baggage. She projects nastiness. I wonder why?

My philosophy is that the more likable candidate always wins. Likability can be defined many ways including being someone with whom you would have a beer:

That’s Clinton, not Bush 1.
That’s Bush 2, not Gore.
That’s Obama, not McCain or Romney.
And that’s Trump, not Hillary.

In fact, look at every election back to 1960. It’s hard to argue the likability angle.

BIden is a complete doofus but he was “likable.” The operative word is “was.” He’s a shell of his former self, and one
massive meltdown away from oblivion.

Love him or hate him, Trump is a media genius. He’s just plain entertaining, and that alone will serve him well on 11/3.

I tell my wife and anyone who will listen, the "mean" and supposedly outlandish tweets are trolling. Plain and simple. Riles up the media and the left, the same I know, and then quietly gets things done.

Dems want to lose with dignity. Said this 9 months ago. They have become a virtual signal party.

By the way, when you look at the latest national polls and you give Trump 80% of the undecideds, they are 50-50. This is a straight up loss in the electoral college for Biden. He’s not winning today and it only gets worse from here as the economy gets better and Covid disappears. Dead man walking, and the delusional Dems don’t see it.

If the Dems think Covid is failing they will come up with something else. They’ve tried to tie the postal service demise on trump what’s next. Nothing is beyond the pale.

Nothing but loads of dignity spewing over with the Dems. Lots of dignity when Harris dropped out of the race and blamed the party of inclusiveness for being too racist. Now she could be VP. Yay!

Kamala speaking now. Nasal as usual

Expecting a flaming arrow to go thru her heart at any moment now with a note attached that reads "I'm STILL not thru with you-- signed, Tulsi"

I saw it somewhere on here that Trump may be considering replacing Pence with Nikki Haley. I like Pence and what he stands for and has done, but with politics being what it is, a feisty, experienced Haley would destroy KH in a debate, if it happened. Pence would be labeled the tired, old, gay hating, racist white guy. Could be interesting.

Harris reminds me a lot of Hillary Clinton. She is unlikable, uninspiring, aloof, inauthentic, and though not dumb, not as smart as she thinks she is. That makes her sound shrill when she talks rather than authoritative. Like Hillary Clinton, her appeal is largely a media creation. Liking Kamala Harris makes the media feel good about themselves, and so they've pitched her as a strong candidate. Her weaknesses were exposed in the primary, but they're being pushed aside now.

Besides all that...heck, she ain't half bad.

Isn't he technically a dead man walking now?.....Or is it sleep walking?

Way too late for that in my opinion. Trump needs to dance with who brung him. Pence adds a touch of class that Trump desperately needs. Picking Haley would just make Trump look like he's following Biden's lead.

Good point. But, of course, he could pick, and she could accept, Hillary, and the media still wouldn't go for it.

I wasn't endorsing the idea if it came across that way. Yes, if he ousted Pence now, it would be feeding season from the left and media that Trump admits Pence was a lousy VP blah blah blah.

Did I hear Kamala correct last night when she sought to attribute the 'disproportionate' number of black and brown 'rona deaths on 'systemic racism?'

And am I the ONLY one still waiting for the Dems to announce just what precisely they would have done differently that would have reduced deaths while simultaneously keeping the unemployment numbers low? After all, they want to blame both deaths AND unemployment on Trump, despite the unemployment being directly associated with the lockdowns (which were mostly urged by the left).

Virus is hitting inner city urban areas for a lot reasons besides race. It’s a case of wrong place at wrong time.

Yep. Like I said at the time, there is room to criticize Trump's handling of Covid. The problem is that Democrats don't have the credibility to make those criticisms, because of what most of them were saying at the time. Remember, they weren't the party of cautiousness when it mattered. They were the party of partying in Chinatown and calling travel restrictions racist.

a couple of points re the election: the virus aint going away by early November, so not much bounce for the Jefe there.

the stock market continues to perform well but that wont make much difference; people who pay attention to it are called Republicans and they are mostly already voting for the Pied Piper anyway because of the nice tax cuts and the promise that there will be more.

Like most of you I don't see much advantage to Biden by having KH on the ticket. He painted himself into a corner by promising a woman and Saint George's martyrdom compelled him to make it a POC. Last woman standing who was not crazy or so inexperienced as to be laughable. But she is so unlikable that she is almost Hillary like. But the women who have been dying to see a woman at the top are going to get out to work to get out the vote and some POC will troop to the polls just like us Catholics did for Kennedy, so maybe its a wash.

The last of my couple of points: I agree with the republicans that mail voting is subject to huge fraud possibilities. I agree with dems that the republicans are engaged in a desperate attempt at voter suppression. Some dems in some areas are pretty good at vote fraud; I've represented a couple of them. Some republicans are pretty good at vote suppression. My local county clerk is a bumbling neurotic but she got the job done last time by passing out voter machines sparingly in some precincts and changing the locations of some precincts on short notice and with little publicity. May the best pack of rats win.

DNC Native American Caucus

What the hell is that? Do my relatives have a caucus?

I had a meeting a few years back with the Tribal Council of all the Indian tribes in the Northwest. They wanted my assistance to bring a project to their land before the BIA wasted any more of their money.

I began my presentation with, "Gentlemen, it is an honor and pleasure to visit with you today. My family in Oklahoma is Cherokee and Choctaw. No one in my family is hyphenated; we are Indian. If that offends you, throw me out now."

Not one of the Chiefs or legal counselors disagreed. FTS

BofA also points out, "we continue to see clear signs the Coronavirus is rolling over in the US as the number of people hospitalized due to COVID-19 declines at a rapid pace of about one percent a day (26% in 23 days)."

Extrapolating, this rate of decline means that there could be zero Covid-related hospitalizations around the Nov 3 election day, a feat that if marketed properly, could mean the difference for Trump between victory and defeat.

Hui, isn’t it a little late in the day to be sober? You are usually long gone by now. :beertoast:

Just accuse Trump of everything and hope people are too dumb to realize it doesn't work that way.
