Anyone watch Democrat convention?

This is amazing. Biggest pay raise in 10 years
but "No it is not special to me. "( want to give your raise back?)
getting us out of 2 wretched conflicts saving lives is not special to you
You are not like any member of our armed forces I have known.
Not all are Republican but all were appreciative of the good things being done for the military.

You are more like a leftist. And with each post you reveal more and more.

First off thank you for serving sir. I agree with you 100%. I may hate saluting someone (Obama and Clinton in my case) but it is the office. Just like officers we didn't like.

So the small pay raise I got is supposed to make me vote for him? There is so much government waste its crazy. Billions and billions of wasted dollars.
And again apparently your not reading. I said explicitly more than once that getting out of Iraq and Afghanistan is a great thing.

The only speakers at their convention with favorable rating among independents is Barack and Michelle. Every single other known Dem speaker has a less than 50% favorable (w/indies, and of course its even worse with Republicans).
Americans dont like them. So putting them homes every night is not helping their case. Would probably go better for them if they just stayed hidden out of sight

You could be right. BUT...one of the two (Biden and Trump) will be the next POTUS. Given that they're the only two real choices, I have to vote for Trump - I cannot stand the platform of the Democratic Party, so the only choice remaining is to vote GOP.

that is a little surprising to me. I'm surprised the Obamas' are that high. I would have tagged them under 50%. Especially Michelle.
AOC also is way too high! She is crazier and more radical then Bernie. She shoudl be around 5%

Let's get this thread back on track. The convention has been a dud so far, as you'd expected with this virus panic. But they're usually snoozes for the first two days anyway. Parading a bunch of never Trumpers out and about isn't going to convince anyone to vote differently than what they would have anyway.

Rubber meets the road when Harris speaks, and to a much larger extent, when we get to see the best of 20 takes that senile Joe mumbled through. Like Mr. Burns being dragged around by the horse - "20 takes, and that was the best one".

Won't surprise me if instead of one long scene, it purposely has several camera angles the DNC/media jump to, so as to better be able to splice in sections where he slurs his words the least.

The usual pattern after conventions is to go on a bus tour and try to ride the momentum of the convention - that obliviously won't happen here, so you wonder how much if any bounce slow Joe will get from a pre-recorded speech?

It's fortunate for the Republicans to have their convention (as such) next week, to be able to learn from the various glitches and duds that the DNC has had with theirs, in this new video link format.
 
I can guarantee you Joe’s speech will be recorded. No way they turn mumbling stumbling Joe loose on a hot mic.
 
These speeches are long too - 30-45 minutes. I don't think slow Joe can keep awake that long in one stretch. They'll have to tape his speech in bite sized, 5 minute segments, with some Jello mixed in with no-doze to get him going after his naps.

If Pres Trump goes ahead with the Gettsyburg backdrop, and does it live, the contrast between the two is going to be hard for the Media / DNC to paper over. Trump is very good actually on "set piece" speeches - his Rushmore speech was Reagan-esq, and this State of the Union speeches have been good as well. A good speech there, and a continuation of his Air Force One airport rallies will be start contrast to the mole man Biden in the basement.

Yeah would be a hoot if something important happens between now and then (big disaster, aliens landing, etc.) and slow Joe doesn't reference it, making it obvious that it was taped far in advance. Interesting M Obama's speech seemed to be taped well in advance, by a week or so, as she didn't mention Harris at all.

At a high level all Dems want Biden to win as that pushes their agenda through. But anyone who has goals of running for Pres themselves is going to be at a serious disadvantage if slow Joe and the phony win. No chance the drooler makes it through a full term, so the phony would be the incumbent Pres in 24, and impossible to dislodge as the Dem candidate. Would have to wait till 28 to run at least.

In contrast, a loss this year not only opens things up for 24, but the Democrat would be the heavy favorite, as since WWII the parties have swapped out every 8 years, bar the magic of Reagan in 80, and him dragging Mr. 1000 Points of Light across the finish line in 88. Win the nomination in 24 as a Dem, and you're President. Plus Harris would be damaged goods for failing to help defeat Trump, and she ran a terrible campaign on her own this time anyway.

Warren's too old to probably run again, but you never know, the Communist Bernie Sanders isn't in it to win it, just to be able to feather his own nest. Younger and even more crazies like Occasionally-Coherent though, may secretly want slow Joe to lose this year.
