2025 Softball Season

I saw a player with a 00 jersey, but no name. I thought "Wow, a last minute transfer in?" Then, on the texassports roster listing, there is one player with no picture, Rachel Wells.

Google tells me:
1. Committed to play for Delaware State: Wells called to D1 Delaware State University | ScoutU But never listed on their rosters or recorded stats.
2. Google them says that she was on the transfer list to go to OK-State: Dec 2022 Softball Transfer Portal Again, no stats or hits on the OSU roster.
3. She's listed as a Junior so....she must have taken a detour and not played for 2 years?
She has a strong bat. She struck out but hit a mean foul liner to left field 😁. We will see how well she bats against Ace pitching .

I'm impressed the "pop" that I'm hearing from some of Salmon's pitches. And the fact that she was able to thrown that consistently. The control for fancier pitches isn't there yet. But it's good to know she's got the fastball that can be used when it's 3-2 and you just want her to blow it by the hitter.

I see that Rachel Wells went to Melissa High School where Caigan Crabtree is from and her mother is the softball coach? A little scary to see she has been invisible for the last 2 years. :idk:

Obviously that's the point of connection to the Texas program. At first, I thought, "hmmmm Delaware St?" But then, Kenny G is a pretty good evaluator of transfer prospects and if he was willing to take her on.......

And as guessed, very likely a walk-on. Although that will be interesting if/when that lawsuit gets settled and they have a hard roster cap on the various sports (I think that will be litigated in court and be removed a few years later).

Why don't the Longhorns have a softball scrimmage game against its alumni? I think this would be fun to watch and attend. :hookem: :bevo:

Sometimes when they have "homecoming" for the players and they all go out onto the field with their kids/babies, I think, "Oh, her playing days are way past her. She'll hurt herself if she suits up"
Lol for sure, think that's why I remember a couple slow pitch games.

My chances of attending the game Thurs are pretty good. I will video the game and upload it hopefully later that night. :hookem:

@Benny P hey did you happen to stay and get the second game on video or you left after the first game as well?
I stayed. But did not have enough cell phone battery power to video it. However, go to the prior webpage... Saturday at 1:12PM... I entered a high level update per batter per inning for GM2. :hookem: :hookem:

Thanks Racer. I was up right below the press box.

Started at the bottom of the 2nd inning. :hookem:

Thank you immensely for the videos!! I finally had time to watch it all the way through!! And thanks in advance for the Texas State game!

I noticed Mia Scott did not start? Did she play, is she hurt??
When the game began, several players were missing from the introduction line, including Mia, Tegan, Sophia, etc.....

Then as the first inning was starting, the missing players started coming out of the player development building.

Hey the video says “This video contains content from SME, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds”
Yup. It's going to be the logic of YouTube blocking the distribution of it due to perceived copyrights. In theory, you could do something as wacky as download a VPN program, start up the VPN program to make YouTube think you live in England or Japan and then when you select the recording, it says, "Oh, hey you're from England. No copyright issues with Longhorn stuff from Europe. Here you go."

In theory, I've never done it.
