2024 Recruiting - Football

Found this. Scroll down through all the recruits predictions. Bussey was the only one I saw that said Texas had a chance.
Preview: Alabama set for stupendous amount of visitors vs. Texas
Bama has been cherry picking Texas kids for quite a few years. Saw the James Brockermeyer on the bama sidelines and I know his brother transferred to TCU. Surprised he is not started at TCU but hopefully in time. Sark should get some extra umpf in the recruiting trail from this win unless bama melts down the rest of the way and this is sabans swan song. He is like 95 years old (kidding) but he has to retire sometime.

Quotes from DE Solomon Williams of Tampa, FL after Texas' victory last night, per IT:

“Anthony Hill had himself a day,” Williams told Inside Texas Sunday afternoon. “Second game as a freshman. Quinn Ewers had himself a day, and (AD) Mitchell had himself a day. Worthy too.”

“I was talking to Texas earlier in the week before the game, and they said they were going to attack the freshman offensive tackle. And they executed the game plan. I think they had two or three sacks on him. I actually talked to Coach PK before the game. He told me he wanted me to come be a part of the Texas program.”

“I talked to Coach Sark Friday. He told me good luck before our game, to have a good game and that Texas wants me.”

“I’m going to OV to Oregon for the Colorado game September 23. I’m going to OV for a Texas game either for the Kansas game or the Wyoming game this weekend. It will depend on my moms work schedule, so she can come see Texas.”

Texas is one of the few schools that Nike cannot & will not push around.

We weathered a huge "woke" storm and NO ONE is more "woke" than the douche bags at Adidas. Any day they may decide that meat producers are cruel to cattle and want to rebrand us and our colors - see also their attempts at PNG and the superintendent's suggestion that they get the **** out of his school, his town, his state, but in the process he was requesting a DPS escort for them out of town to Louisiana because they definitely wanted to get to Houston before a certain alumnus detoured them to Anahuac and he was on his way NOW.

Under Armour covets the Texas contract but fired their marketing director who signed Jordan Speith.

It still seems like UA would be a better choice than Nike.

Considering the fact that their last attempt was met with "don't bother coming because you can't beat Nike's offer", not sure how well we would be received. A main consideration is the players prefer Nike shoes, which is what drove Rebook out of the business.

I detest Phil Knight and his destruction of college athletics, but he does write huge checks that clear the bank, and he understands "Don't **** With Texas"

It's two pronged. 1) Winning. Got to have it. 2) Money. We do, but some of the other schools do too. Burnt Orange doesn't bleed like it once might have but green sure flows.
