I hope we're talking with him. Even if we get the star G from ORU, we need some serious G depth. Mylik will get A LOT of playing time here. And Terry likes Defense.Malik’s defense is stellar! STELLAR! Great kid.

You mean we WANT to take more than 1 thru the transfer portal.I think we'll take more than 1 incoming G through the portal.
Sounds like Abmas is gone.
Ever the Negative Nellie...
Do we have any non-walk-on guards right now? That’s not skin and bones that is an invisible guard situation. While I have a heavy dose of pessimism that I'm trying to choke down, I do feel we need more than Abmas. Our guard situation is skin and bones right now.
Might be a little more upbeat if we had a couple of quality guards on the roster.I promise I will look for signs of hopefulness in your posts, but what I have seen since the end of the season has been very heavy on the doom and gloom.
I hear Ron Weaver still has some eligibility left.Do we have any non-walk-on guards right now? That’s not skin and bones that is an invisible guard situation.
Tks again for your research and putting together the list of portal prospects. However, we really do not need anymore forwards, we needs guards, we have none right now.Couple of tidbits on new or existing portallers:
Tanner Holden, tOSU
The former Wright State player was arguably the cream of the portal crop last year. Great swingman with slasher ability. Would have been 3x all conference for the Horizon League if not for an injury his sophomore year. Put together a line of 20-7-3-1 before transferring to Ohio State. Not really sure what happened there, but he rarely got in for a couple minutes at a time. We could REALLY use him. He's born and raised in B1G country, so I could see him going somewhere like Penn State or Illinois, but that would be quite a flier to take.
Parker Braun, Mizzou & Santa Clara
The PF was all-Kansas in HS and then never quite got back to that level of success at either Missouri or Santa Clara. He has some skills but is mostly limited to D.
Johnathan Lawson, Memphis
Another swingman. He was the Tigers' leading bench minutes guy and a top-100 player from the class of 2021. I don't know enough about him to give much assessment, but he seems ok in his HS clips.
We got him!
Wow, way to go RT. The biggest get in the area of greatest need.My honest reaction, sitting here alone, watching the draft:
What? OMIGOD!
Great news!
Those "old" haters...Bad week for the Terry haters.
Bad week for the Terry haters.
Has anyone really expressed hatred?
It's a great start for guards, but it's also a Sir'Jabari situation as a one-year deal. We've got to interview some more guards.
I still think Cleveland from FSU is the most well-rounded of the remaining available players. He's gritty, runs the floor, can play swing or the two, takes charges, all of that stuff. AND I like that he could potentially be a two-year guy and not just a rental.
The best available G, however, is Morris. Maybe he got pissed off one day and said "I'm entering the portal," but we don't have the luxury to say "piss off." If he wanted to come back, we need that.
For shits and giggles, Jaden Bradley would be a fun gym rat to sign. He's the kind of guy who could hit his head on the backboard. We probably haven't had as physically talented a guard since... Cory Joseph maybe?
This article say's he has two-years of eligibility remaining:
Coveted guard Max Abmas picks Texas men's basketball team
Thanks again for researching the portal. I appreciate your info. The FSU guard looks good. Hope RT is on him. It's a great start for guards, but it's also a Sir'Jabari situation as a one-year deal. We've got to interview some more guards.

Pursue all of them, and the G from UH. We're still very light on G depth. It's a great start for guards, but it's also a Sir'Jabari situation as a one-year deal. We've got to interview some more guards.

We also need some more size at guard especially for defensive purposes. We are going to be at a disadvantage with two 6' guards (although I think Hunter plays bigger than his height). It can be done, we did it with Agustine and Abrams until they ran into Derrick Rose and Memphis. Maybe Anamekwe can be a swing between small forward and big two guard. If Mitchell and Hunter both come back it is rounding into a decent roster. Still need some bodies though.Pursue all of them, and the G from UH. We're still very light on G depth.

Everybody seems awful sure Hunter is coming back.I foresee a primary lineup of Shedrick Disu Holland Abmas Hunter. Holland is versatile enough to play kind of a swing, even if we don't ask him to do much on the defensive end. Very similar to Durant in that regard.
Anamekwe will play 3 but I don't think he's quick enough or has good enough handles to play Holland's version of it. He's more likely a sub for a small PF when we're not going big.
The good news is that Cunningham can pretty much go in for anyone not named Hunter. The bad news is that Hunter and Abmas have to play 38+ minutes/night if we can't get 2 more portal guards.
