No help from Angels so far. Houston leading 4-1, going to bottom of fifth in Houston. Rangers will need to win in SF to keep the lead at 2-1/2 games.

Eta. Martinez fielded the ball prior to the runner hitting 3rd so it was an easy out to begin with. But I was impressed with the arm

Good job making the Giants use their bullpen arms. If the bats can continue to produce, a sweep is definitely in play. Still have little hope for any help from the Angels in Houston.

Meantime T9th Angel's up 2-1 on the astros....

To my great surprise, the Angels managed to eke out a W against the Astros, 2-1. This would be a great time for the Rangers to wake up the bats and get a W in SF to increase the lead.

Well, phooey! After tying it in the top of the ninth on a Willie Mays Hayes play - runner scoring from second on a infield single - and scoring the go-ahead run in the top of the tenth on a balk, Smith grooves a fastball and gives up a walk-off homer. Rangers lose 3-2 and miss a great opportunity to extend the lead over the Astros.
Back to Arlington for a series against the Angels while Houston goes to Florida to play the Marlins. Need to sweep the Angels, especially since the Angels will skip Ohtani for his planned start on Wednesday.

Well poop. Down 2 outs bottom of the 9th. The Rangers fought hard to tie 1-1 and coulda, shoulda won today! Lost 3-2.

A least the stros lost....

Let's sweep the Angel's at home!!! Ohtani will not be in the pitching rotation for the 3 game series!
