Always wanted to use one of these silly banana emojis...

Mistakes by the A's - physical and mental - lead to a two-run 8th inning for the Rangers. Now 5-3, A's up in the 8th, Chapman on the hill. Need to close this one out to move the lead to 3 games.
Scherzer on the bump tomorrow evening - good chance for a W. And th Astros face a very tough evening in Baltimore. This is a good opportunity to pad the lead some more.

WhoooHooo! Smith closes the door.

Another rally: down 3-0 and Rangers score 5 unanswered runs!!

5-3

7 wins in a row!!!

Keeping the heat on the Astros!!

Put this one in the Win column. Nice comeback. Lead in the West now at 3 games. Rangers need to take care of the A's tomorrow - and get some help from the Orioles against Houston.

Rangers show some grit last night to come back and run the win streak to 7. That was a letdown game after long trip up to Oakland but fortunately it was against a really bad team. It's all a numbers game from here on out and with 49 games to go, going 28-21 over that stretch would get Texas to 95 wins and that will all but guarantee a playoff spot and probably win the AL West.

These comeback wins are going to be critical late this month and in September when the effects of the mounting injury list manifest.

Rats! Orioles took a 6-3 lead into top on nine and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Gave up a Tucker grand slam; Astros hold on for a 7-6 victory. Rangers could have used an Orioles W tonight - guess the Rangers will have to beat the A's to keep the lead at three games.
Rangers leading 1-0 going to bottom of second in Oakland - left the bases loaded in top of the second.

M8, Rangers keep nibbling on A's pitching.

6-1

Burke comes in from the pen for the 8th to relieve Scherzer who had an excellent night!

Final 6-1

8 wins in a row since trade deadline!
68-46 on the season!

Seager ANOTHER big night!
Going for sweep PM Wed.
A's started their best pitcher Sears tonight.

GO RANGERS!!! :texas-flag:

Nice 6-1 win for the Rangers - superb pitching. Unfortunately, Orioles see their closer, usually solid, melt down and give up four in the top of the ninth, and Houston wins 7-6.
Rangers go for the sweep on Wednesday. Hope the Orioles can come back and win the series against the Astros.

Tables turn starting Thursday/Friday - Rangers stay in the Bay area for a series with the Giants while Houston hosts the Angels.

Friday Gray (7-5) is starting vs. some spare SF pitcher named Stripling who has a 0-4 record this season.

I suspect the O's will win today and take the series... LAA is capable of helping us out with the Astros - take at least 1 game....

It is August 9th and the Rangers already have as many wins this season as they had all of last season. That’s how much better this team is than what we have seen in quite a while.:texasflag:

We're down 2-0 to the A's (32 - 82 record) in the top of the 8th. We are being 2-hit by this crew:

Can't win them all, but it's not good to be shut out by a team that is on track for one of the worst records ever. Montgomery and Stratton pitched a stellar game. Damn.

Yup, can't win 'em all but you should against a cellar team like Oakland. Pitching held them to 2 runs and our batting lineup cannot get 3 runs today?
