2023 Texas Rangers

It's going to be a dog-fight between us and the Astros (formerly the Disastros). Don't forget the Angels. I just hope our bullpen holds up.

Also, Jung is now 0 for 12 in the last three games. I know baseball is a game of streaks but this is a long season and he's still young. I hope he has the gas to continue on.

I fully expect it to come down to the last week of the season between the Rangers and the Astros. The Angels won't be able to hang on.
As for the bullpen - we need to see how the team mans the bullpen this week as the newly-acquired pitchers begin to slot into place. One of the current starters could move to the bullpen. And with the Cardinal reliever coming aboard, someone in the current bullpen will have to be sent down or DFAd. I'm guessing this will all have to be done today or tomorrow.

The Rangers really need to sweep the White Sox to stay ahead of the Astros. I will be amazed (maybe even stunned) if the Indians can win this afternoon against the Astros.
Houston goes to NY for a four-game series against the Yankees (that's the last-place-in-the-ALEast Yankees). Yanks are 5-5 in their last ten, and on a three-game losing streak. It would help if the Yanks can win two games in this series. The Rangers host the Marlins for the weekend, and they're playing pretty well. Sweeping the White Sox and winning two against the Marlins should be the minimum objective. And cheer very hard for the Yanks this weekend!

Yeah HHD, Rangers really need a sweep!

Thurs afternoon....Mighty Max vs. some spare sox pitcher Touissant!?

Get 'er dun Rangers!!

I've been following on my cell while playing bridge online tonight. Would be nice to see Dunning complete the shutout and save the bullpen for tomorrow. Astros won today, so lead will stay at 1/2 game. Really need for the Yankees to take a couple of games from the Astros in NY this weekend, while the Rangers take two of three from the Marlins in Arlington.

I did not know the Rangers traded pitcher Lance Lynn to the sox and the Rangers got Dunning as part of the trade.

T 8. Dunning with 11 strikeouts so far...

Darn Astros win again. Making it tough.

Lot of Sox fans there tonight, half of the trolley bus from the hotel run wore the black n white. Mostly good natured folks but that had to be hard to sit thru

Look fwd to max tomorrow, we're headed back at 3pm , won't see it

Seats were down the 3rd base / left field line ala fenway. Not bad, but Jankowski's double down the line was not visible to us, simien's hr was almost behind us. Odd angle, but still good views

Big surprise with Seager! In my book, other than Ohtani, he's the MVP. Just a killer at the plate. If the last two starts are any indication, our pitching staff is suddenly stacked for starters. This is the moment Brochy shows his 3-time championship organizational skills.

Guess I was a little too optimistic about Scherzer... T 2 and Rangers down 3-0. Given up 5 hits so far. Struggling with command of some pitches. He walked in a run and gave up 2 more runs in the 1st.

Whew, he pitches out of the 2nd with 2 runners on base but gave up no runs....
