2023 Texas Rangers

Thank you for the concerns expressed for my wife. Not a disease or life threatening - but serious physical problem that requires major pain control - fortunately Dr. has a strategy for treating in the future.

I will have to watch the score this eve on my phone - go Rangers!

Well poop! 4-3 loss.

Tues. eve couldn't view the game, but R's kept it close. Read Bochy's post game comments. From what he said, we got 2 bad calls that had a role in the loss?

Well, some of that offensive outburst would have helped in the first two games - but it's nice to see the Rangers sucking it up for Game Three. A W tonight gets the AL West lead back up to 2 games.
Still watching to see the GM trade for some starting/bullpen/both help for the pennant run.

Just checked the thread, grandkid has VBS week so I'm not getting home until 830 or later. Woo, hope the wife is ok. !

Got robbed in games 1,2, then tonight gets interesting.

I think this has FINALLY become a real rivalry. Valdez, Maldonado were heated up

A needed day off Thurs. then on to the Padres for 3 over the weekend.

The good news is they get another day off on Monday before a series back at home with the W. Sox - a team with a cool 41-61 record!

Too quiet on the trade news. Wonder which rabbit the GM is going to pull out of the hat? Rangers really need pitching help - at least one starter and one reliever.

The good news about the Padres is they are < .500 club.

48-53 or something similar.

Good time for the Rangers to make up some ground lost vs. stros.

Rangers go 8-4 over first twelve games after all star break with 4 tough teams, After a 6-0 start that is a bit disappointing but big picture is a more than solid run of games. They now get a "break" with the Padres and White Sox and really need to win both of these series and go at least 4-2 over the next six. Bochy is working some magic in Arlington but the next month is really going to be the test, can the Rangers get to September without their August fall of a cliff experience that the lasts several seasons have seen.

Rays beat the Astros tonight - great chance to pick up a game in the standings. Time to dust the bats off and score a bunch of runs!

2 outs, top of the 6th

TX runners on 2 and 3 and we pop fly for the out, ON THE FIRST PITCH! WTF!

Bullpen unimpressive. OMG error in the outfield on a catchable fly ball.... missed DC and gives Pods an easy double and an RBI.

4-0

Rodriguez pitching woes loads the bases with 1 out......

Hit for 2 run RBI -

Pods 5-0 with bases still loaded....

Seager and Heim out for a while... plus DeGrom out fo ef the season. Backups gotta step up....

At least Evovaldi is back in the rotation this week.

Rangers get Max Scherzer from the Mets. He opts into 2024 with the Rangers; Mets pick up most of his salary. Mets get Acuna in the trade - hate to see him go, but you've got to give value to get value, and he was blocked at SS for the Rangers.
BIG upgrade to the starting staff - and Max has a long-standing relationship with Mike Maddux.
Now, Chris Young - don't rest on this one, go out and get a top bullpen arm before Tuesday!
