2022 Recruiting - Football

This is probably not good news for us (looks like he commits Weds)
The ou people think he is going aggy
Elko is close to Wiltfong. So if Wiltfong says anything about Bear and aggy, we will at least know where it came from

update - the aggy boards are not very optimistic its them. aggy Luigi doesnt think its them or us. Speculation turns to tOSU

update#2 - tOSU boards dont look very optimistic its them

Hearing it's either an ag commit announcement or also chatter about him moving back to Terrell.

aggy says Bear is going to commit
But they may be wrong
They are frequently
Perroni/aggy says "Georgia is one to watch here"

If it is us then its a big hat tip to Bo Davis (Nahlin likes our chances based on Davis)

TFB on 2022 5-star Maalik Murphy from Junipero Serra HS in Calif (which is basically south LA)

This is going to be one to watch. I’ve spoken to a couple sources out west and both gave them the sense that Sark and Texas are going to be a very big player in this one.

Sark is tied in with Maalik’s camp and I was told that Maalik and a lot of the players and folks out west like and trust Sark. They see him as a West Coast guy which gives him credibility and after seeing what he’s done at Alabama, it only adds to that credibility.

I don’t want to get too far out in front of my skies here but everyone I’ve spoken to says that Texas will be a player in this recruitment.

On other possible important note - his mom works at UCLA

We "re-offered" 4-star OL Jacob Sexton of Oklahoma
Jacob Sexton, Deer Creek, Offensive Tackle

Alexander did make it public that his mom was ill and that was all he cared about
Then Georgia suddenly rolls in out of nowhere (2 CBs to UGA today) - they do not even appear on his 247 timeline as having offered

Good looking 3-star WR playing in Arkansas - Isaiah Sategna
His dad was one of our track coaches, but was fired by Del Conte.
Without the firing, this player would probably be playing for Westlake

We offered 2022 OT Connor Robertson from Westlake - played right tackle for Cade Klubnik all the way to state. But could be a Center in college. 247 has him athe #26 OG in the country
His dad is UT (attending during the days of Todd Dodge). His mom is Duke and his sisters are Wake Forest. He also has an uncle that played BBall at SMU.
Already has a CB to Texas
Connor Robertson, Westlake, Offensive Tackle

Offer to Aledo TE Jason Llewellyn (6'4,235). Holds an offer from Yale
Llewellyn’s father signed to play baseball at Texas coming out of high school but went MLB draft instead. After that, he walked on to the football team at TCU, playing LB. Both of Llewellyn’s parents are TCU grads, but his uncle, Steve Llewellyn, played at Texas.

The current CFB rumor is that Georgia and aggy are the two schools out there out-paying everyone right now. And UGA is supposed to be under the microscope and being implicated by the mess at Tennessee.

wonder how they view the westlake QB -- Cade Klubnick ??

Sark knows what he wants from that position
Murphy is a big guy with a strong arm

I will probably gets pooped for this but -- Klubnik is good, but he looks like a long-strider. We have had bad luck with that type of QB in the past

By the way, with all the QB talk flying around, Roach thinks Sark has decided to push for Murphy

Maalik Murphy, Junipero Serra, Pro-Style Quarterback
The QB chase has changed. For the longest it was believed that Ewers was the must have at all cost. The perephials that Ewers brings (other recruits) was a major factor. Sarks presence has nullified that. Word is Sark is giving Ewers , if he already hasn't his one sales pitch. Giving Ewers a timeline then moving on.

Murphy has always liked UT . All went dark soon after Ewers committed to Tx.
Herman did re establish communication with Murphy late in the year and Murphy was receptive and he obviously likes the idea of playing for Sark.
Getting him would play well with the West coast kids.

Another description of Blue -- 5'11.5, 205 - the #4 RB in the nation and #11 overall prospect in Texas, per the 247Comp

"Adequate height and requisite bulk with a prototypical running back build. Above-average length could allow for more mass. Outstanding production as a junior with 6 of 11 games 200-plus yards and 9.5 yards per carry facing strong competition. Played with impressive contact balance and run-finishing ability. Displays functional run strength beyond listed size. Slippery strong and has repeatedly shown ability to break multiple tackles and maximize runs. Big-play speed verified by 10.97 100 freshman track time. Flashes impressive redirection with quick-footed suddenness in the hole. Doesn't have to gear down much to change directions and bursts off cuts. Unique ability to vary run style from juker to glider to finisher as needed. Limited pass-catching reps. Top-end play speed is good but at times may not live up to sub-11.00 track speed. Looks like one of the top running backs in the country's 2022 class. Projects as a high-major impact starter with long-term NFL Draft early-round potential."
