2021 Recruiting - Football

Sark has been a good recruiter in the part
Back in 2015, before the wheels fell off at USC, he was within .5 points of edging out Alabama as the #1 class
We need him to win in Texas recruiting, and he can bring in some 4 or 5* guys from California or Arizona as icing on the cake.

Just noticed that Iowa State is currently ranked 55 in recruiting for 2021. 19-3 star recruits only. Is this typical?
And if this is typical then how do they beat us? Guess it has to be better coaching.
We are ranked 17 with one 5 star, 8-4 stars, and 11-3 stars.

Finally, we made the coaching change and hopefully it will be for the better.
I have a feeling that we will climb in the rankings by NSD2.

Of course it's development and coaching, but they also recruit in an area of the country that has little exposure nationally to HS football. At number of those guys would probably be at least 4* if they played in TX or LA. Purdy has also been a big difference maker and he was a highly regarded 4*.

He has good schemes, slightly unique, on both sides of the ball, and he recruits to fit the schemes. Novel idea, right?
Can it last? We will see

I imagine there will be a trade off. May lose 1-2 but gain others that Sark was recruiting. Also whatever coaches we get will have been recruiting some kids, so there is a probability of names we've not mentioned before pop up.

No doubt that Matt is a good coach and gets the most from his players. TCU does the same thing with lower rated classes and have handed mensa boy his arse a couple of times. TH was never a leader. I dont know what/how he got lost at UT but he was lost. I dont feel sorry or resentful for a guy with 25m in the bank. This isnt boy scouts where everyone needs to feel good. When you get that kind of cash, lead and win.

Per Roach --

There hasn't been a ton of movement in the transfer portal at this point. Texas took a shot at Jaiden Lars-Woodbey, but he chose Boston College over the Longhorns. An excellent source told me that Lars-Woodbey decided on Texas, but several players reached out to dissuade him. Texas gauged interest with several offensive linemen in the portal, but I was told they weren't really ready to move on any of them and kept telling them that they needed more time to evaluate roster numbers. Things will likely change under Sarkisian, but that will take some time to work out

As soon
as anyone get wind of LJ and the effect of Sark hire on this please share news.
I see the above that he wasn't upset about the change.
I hope this sways him and keeps him out of collie.
Doesn't help us that aggy backs looked like they had double-wide lanes on every snap the other night.
We need Sark to bring sone of that business here for Nijam and LJ to run through
