2020 Recruiting - Football

Georgia is just better than Texas. ;)
Yea. That is the crap they spew to recruits. I am curious to know what GA has in their football history that makes them a college football powerhouse. Nothing!

I don’t care what the talking heads say, Texas kicked their a- - last year and I am not sure that Texas would not have won this year’s Alamo Bowl against them. These young men swallow the SEC and GA self promotion crap hook, line and sinker.

For a lot of athletically gifted teenagers they just want to be worshiped for how good they are because that is all that they have.

Precisely why I like this class in particular this year because they see the bigger picture of life and they want a UT education and to play in a great FB program that stresses team and not stars.

Been a Horn since '65, and even I would be hesitant about playing for Texas. Not making players AA, not putting players in NFL. The last 10 years of Texas football was a wasted decade!! Texas is no longer in the elite of college football.

McGlothern's family is all from South Louisiana, so picking LSU should not .surprise anyone.

I don't remember Stone ever being associated with A&M. His recruitment reminds me of Connor Wood. Family continuously sending out publicity about this school and that school, when how many were serious. Mack Brown was lazy and believed Bob Stoops was offering, while the Dust Bowlers were laughing their asses off. (see also Scott Hill and Barry Switzer).

Can Stone adjust to the speed of the game from little rich private school wannabes to real athletes? With good coaching, I believe he can, and Sonny is far better with QBs than Greg Davis ever dreamed of being. SMU is a great opportunity for Stone. I hope he excels there.

We may also say the same for Robinson, being he played in Arizon private school sector. Its not like Robinson played against powers seen in California and Texas. Who knows how Stone will do ? A QB who can throw dimes can adjust anywhere... A RB on the other hand is a different story. Jury is out on Robinson until he does his thing against elite defenders. He better be the real deal for Texas' sake.

A safe pick by the kid. He will be able to learn without the expectations being sky-high as a Power 5 recruit.

You make a good point about Robinson, but from the film I have seen he appears to have really good lateral moves without loss of speed when running with the ball. In this way he reminds me a bit of one of the greats. Guess who.

Riggins was state 100 dash champion in Kansas. He was a terrific running back ... powerful, but faster and shifter than most seem to remember.

I don't follow as closely as many of you do. But I do get alerts. From what I received, every kid in that all star game who had Texas on their list chose to go somewhere else. I think there were 4-5 we hoped to get, and got none. Is that correct?

This has to be the highest ranked commit for them in a very long time.

I was curious so went looking and .... both Rivals and 247 say he is higher rated than Eric Dickerson. Highest evah
Proving there is life after death?

There were hopes, but the folks who follow recruiting didn't have expectations that announcements would go our way.

Love me some Fozzinator
and if you cant already tell from the size, the interlocutor is Collins
to the left (from our view) of Collins is Xavion Alford
to the right of Bijan is trainer and UT-ex Jeremy Hills

Thats on Orlando....Ringo comments after committing to UG point to the fact he sees lack of development, and the program not heading where it needs to in order to play for Texas.

The cold hard truth is that the buzz is lacking in Austin. It is disappointing to see Texas kids bail. This state is known for football. From a high level, he didn't even pick Aggy, an SEC team with a big-time coach. It seems the glow is beyond our borders...

Would that not be more of an enticement to any good CB who wanted to show the NFL scouts he was a shut-down? :idk:

Would you want to work for a company that makes you look bad? Lets also be real here. He was leaning towards jawga long before the season began, that tells me he either was being fed some bad information or getting the SEC treatment.

Stone has all kinds of upside besides the skills he has already developed. If he gets with a good S&C coach, look out.

Glad the staff went with Milroe, though. Besides his considerable skills, he has that moxie like Street and Vince had.

If I am as good as Ringo is, I would want to be on an island all the time to show I am a shut down CB. I want to defend as many attempts as I can. If the DL is constantly chasing the QB out of the pocket the throws are fewer then more of the defensive credit goes to the front 7 and the DB have less opportunity to defend.
