2020 Recruiting - Football

From Inside Texas today, saying to expect a surprise or two --

Alfred Collins, Bastrop Cedar Creek, DL - Priority No. 1 and the last big-time signature Texas needs rather than wants, has looked outstanding in San Antonio this week for All-American bowl practices. He says he’s down to UT, Alabama, Baylor, and OU. But behind the scenes, it might be more deeper than that. His mother’s fondness for Texas is unyielding. The closer we get to the first Wednesday in February, the more I think UT here. All the current noise behind the scenes points to Texas.

Interestingly, a Cigar source told us there's talk of another surprise. The first one was Jaylan Ford, which we also heard from sources in Frisco, but this "surprise" is thought to be a bigger fish. I heard of this before the newfound momentum with Collins and believe Collins is the surprise but I don't know for sure.

Kelvontay Dixon, Carthage, ATH - This one is tilting in different directions. Dixon wants to play, and the chance of that at UTSA is a lot greater than at Texas. Playing with big bro, Keaontay, is still a possibility. His Austin OV is January 31st. But his window to make a decision might close before then.

Princely Umanmielen, Manor, DL - He still has four officials to take. Don’t be shocked if Texas is one of them. We're beginning to think he ends up in Austin especially given the bowl performance and new front.

Fridays in the Humidor - 1/3/20 - Inside Texas

We could use both Rakestraw and Ringo, but we should be grateful and pleased to land either. Get them both, along with Collins and it's time for dancing in the streets.

Haven't seen every play, but Adams getting all the carries I've seen, and Stroud running or throwing to everyone but Robinson.

Looks like Stroud doesn't want to get the ball to Robinson...maybe butt hurt since Robinson snubbed the Buckeyes ?

Bijan was wide open in the end zone and you can see Stroud look him off and tried a much more difficult pass that wasn’t even open.

Preston Stone ??? Hasn't he been an Aggy commit forever ? Why is he declaring in this game ? Did he de-commit ?
SMU ????? He will de-commit before next December.

Thats on Orlando....Ringo comments after committing to UG point to the fact he sees lack of development, and the program not heading where it needs to in order to play for Texas.

I disagree. Like everything else, whatever happens or fails to happen is on the head coach.

Who do you think gets credit for all those Ohio St, and Alabama players in the top rounds of the NFL? Joe position coach?

It looked like there wasn't position development, but the truth is we hung our DBs out to dry all year with our dline play. (That is on Orlando) Then we got a lot of them injured because they were the ones making all the tackles. (Again on Orlando) Then you have the fact that we play a lot of good passing teams. (That is on Big 12).

It wasn't a surprise we didn't get him, but hopefully that will get fixed with the new DC, or if not, then our new HC.

I will fix it ^^^^ for you:

Partly, but more the recruiters. And the ultra-low academic standards in the $EC for all schools not named Vanderbilt.
