2020 Recruiting - Football

It’ll be interesting to see if this newfound humility remains after his first big game. I wouldn’t want to be the team to find out
I would hope some adult in his life would steer him towards a Notre Dame, Liberty, BYU, or Abilene Christian sort of place. I'm not vouching for the theology taught at any of the aforementioned institutions--just the discipline, structure, and clean living, that would likely do him much good.

Did you see his interview this evening at the Under Armour game?

Very remorseful, said he wasn’t a bad kid. Apologized to his teammates and coaches

About as sincere as the guy in Nuevo Laredo telling you his sister is a virgin.

Sorry, didn’t know Joe posted it while I was typing
Just because she works at Papagayos.

SEC will take him......If not, he could go to a small school or JUCO, clean up his act, then transfer to anywhere as a Sophomore or Junior.

This might be very BIG. There is a guy that I’ve been keeping up with because he’s been so accurate in the past. I’ve talked about him on here before and even posted like I am now and he was dead on. This is what he said today.

“Lots of buzz of Ringo to us lately. I have a source that says he is Texas but I still have my doubts. We will know in a day for sure.”

I hope what he’s hearing is accurate. But like him, I’m trying to be prepared that he could be wrong.

The signs are there, Obi Wan.

Wasn't Deion, but had on the same clothes as the coaches. I thought he ws probably one of those multiple street agents that hang around IMG

If he is referring to the interview that was recently posted. That was Deon Sanders, he is one of the coaches for the AA game that Evans is committed to.

Basically Deon was feeding him his words.

247 now has Ringo as "warm" on Texas but CB's still going to Georgia.

They also have Collins as "warmer" on Texas and CB's going to us.

So who else is left for Evans to consider? What's left of the usual rogues' gallery: Miami? aTm? UH? OU? Ole Miss? There are always programs out there that will compromise just about anything to put top-level talent on the football field. Does Georgia still want this guy? How about FSU (coach Norvell is making a big splash already)? Arkansas (a top RB could maybe pull them out of the dumpster fire)? LSU doesn't really need him, and as much smack as Ed gets around here, he doesn't strike me as the sort of coach that would put up with this kid's bullsh!t and insubordination. SMU is clean now (I think...). Where is a punk like this to go?

He'll likely cause much trouble wherever he lands, and I'm glad he's not coming here, but history shows that there are places that would take a chance with him.

They probably wouldn't take a chance with a kid like this, but the best thing for Evans as a human being might be to go to a place like Notre Dame, BYU, Liberty, or Abilene Christian--if they'd take him on as a project. Lot's of discipline and clean living, on and off the field. A generation ago, I would have put Baylor on this list, but obviously things have changed quite a bit there in Waco...
What a waste of talent. The guy is exceptional on the field but a cancer to any program.

Bill,

I was referring to the brief TV interview on the sideline during the game. It definitely was not Deion, but I did get the impression that Deion is trying to get the kid on the right track.

It looked like Sanders to me. You know he grew his hair back ... I see his hair restoration billboards all the time.

just some aggy recruiting regret

Sounds like Zach Evans did sign with Georgia in the early signing period
But they did not to submit his LOI
They say he was immediately calling other schools. If not him directly, then someone close to him

Related? Georgia self-reporting
Report: Georgia imposed fine, penalty for recruiting violations
In response to the NCAA violations, Georgia paid the $10,000 fine and reduced official visits by four during the current recruiting cycle, took away three weeks of unofficial visits, reduced its evaluation days by nine for the spring of 2020, reduced evaluation days by three during fall 2019 and stopped recruiting the athletes involved. Georgia also agreed not to recruit any prospects at one of the high schools involved for two years.

Looks like Josh Moore has removed the Texas stuff from his Twitter. Probably a sign that he is gone. Which opens another spot (and we really need Jake to stay)
