2020 Presidential Election: let the jockeying commence

So Dems are getting a little back in FL on Sunday, maybe a couple thousand

Seems like Trump survived the 'souls to the polls' push in Florida, although they did claw back some
These are total EVs (VBM & early in person) Ds +104,686
No polls open today (unless its storm related then it becomes optional)

In 2016, Ds led going into Election Day by 96,400 (so they are up ~8,200 over 2016). Trump won 2016 FL by 113k
And, since then, Florida has gained ~1M in total population, so the big picture is that this EV Dem gain is minimal

Trafalgar was the best at this in 2016. They were able to identify what they call the "shy Trump voter" - and they see that voter-class as even larger this time.

The thing I like to look at is the numbers from Trumps rallies -- 31% of attendees are non-Republicans. That means they are Dems or non-affiliated. Think of the effort each one of them has to go to just to participate in a Trump rally. That is some motivated people. I think it's a remarkable figure.

Another way to look at the Dem lead in Florida going in is that that they made a huge effort with VBM - including sending out an extra 811k requests this year. They put all their chips on this.
But the result was weak sauce. The big push only netted them an extra 12k votes
