If John McCain could have used his right arm he should have punch this douche right square in the mouth.
Nope, they were best buddies. McCain would kiss the *** of anyone who could help his image.
I say this as a veteran and a combat solider. John McCain was a horrible Senator, and by most accounts, a terrible person.
He abandoned his wife after he returned from Vietnam, in favor of a rich heiress who could finance his entry into politics.
He traded influence for money in the Keating 5 S&L scandal.
He ran a terrible campaign for the R nomination in 2000, then spent the next 8 years being bitter that Republican primary voters didn't want him to run, knowing what a loser he would be.
He craved the love of the media, trading backstabbing quotes about President Bush to them for scraps of praise.
He ran the worst campaign for President I remember in my 40 years of watching them. Mondale, Dukakis, even Dole ran better campaigns than McCain. He had the bizarre notion of wanting to pick a member of the other party for his VP (Joe Lieberman), who was his friend, though they had, allegedly, drastically different views on domestic policy, and was resentful when his advisors told him that was not going to work as a pick.
By the end of the 2008 race, his campaign consisted of staffers who competed with each other for the worst, most back stabbing quotes they could plant with the media in return for not being personally blamed for the putrid state of that organization.
He was called crazy, insane, a war criminal, a scarred little dwarf of a man by the media during the election, when it was technically possible he could have won. Then after the election did he hold a grudge against them - no sir, it was just fun and games. He crawled back to be in their good graces.
It takes a special type of insecure, craven, empty vessel to need the love of those who you know hate you. John McCain was that type of man.
He called the Tea Party, as close to a grass roots conservative movement that his country has seen, "hobbits" and other names, again to curry favor with the media.
He and his staff peddled the Russian Dossier, a paid for collection of lies by Hillary Clinton, to the FBI and media to launder it as a legitimate information source.
He ran for office in 2016 promising to vote against Obamacare, only to stab his voters in the back and preserve a large chunk of it, again in return for media love.
While suffering from terminal brain cancer, and unable to fulfill his duties as Senator, he selflessly stayed in office so that he could die as a sitting Senator with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it.
As a final petty insult, he forbid Sarah Palin from attending his funeral, his running mate who never had anything but a kind word to say about him, despite the slandering she took from his staff. Again, for media love.
John McCain was the biggest piece of **** I've ever had the misfortune to vote for. Glad he's dead, and wish he'd died in 2006 or so, such I would not have voted for him.
Let me tell you something - being a veteran, as a veteran, does not give you a lifetime pass for your behavior. You served your country in time of war and peace, and are to be commended for that. You should be judged for what you do with the rest of your life the same as anyone else.
