2020 Presidential Election: let the jockeying commence

I feel like I’ve taken crazy pills. After the Dems slaughtered Bernie to protect themselves, you think they are going hand the knife to someone they can’t control. SMDH.

The DNC will push him to have a black female for VP. Minnesota does nothing for the ticket. He will win California regardless if Harris is on his ticket.

Stacey Abrams or Michelle Obama.

Is that their strategy? Win the South? I dont know about that.
They usually pick someone dumber, if so Steyer certainly qualifies. As do Booker and AOC.
No, the black vote in PA and MI critical.

Texas turnout

Democrats -- the 4 top candidates combined—1,663,590

Republicans -- for Donald Trump —1,879,758.

And thus an uncontested race still inspired a larger turnout than the Democrats’ second biggest Super Tuesday prize
ALSO to be kept in mind is that there were many typically-Republican voters interested in down-ballot races who voted in the Democratic primary and will be going back to clicking buttons for Republican candidates in November.

I know this because I was one of them. I had several races where I wanted to help try to get qualified people into the November ballot (some were friends/colleagues) and then there were those absolutely horrific Propositions to vote against. I know I was in the minority on those, voting no on all of them, but the language was ghastly and they will be used to trot out crappy legislation where the authors point to the votes and claim it is the "will of the people."

In the DFW area, there was a much-hyped GOP primary race where tea party darling Chris Putnam took on incumbent Kay Granger. Granger kicked his a$$.

This is not the proper comparison. It should be GOP 2020 vs Dem 2012.

Why not Mayor Peter? He is much more likeable and loves to make the type of pointless claims dressed in flowery prose which always seem to appeal to Democrats. I think he may have been their best shot.
“Pointless claims dressed in flowery prose”... Sounds an awful lot like Beto.

Joe: Hey Beto, if I win, I’ll make you ambassador to Yugoslavia, the Belgian Congo, or Rhodesia. And that’s no malarkey.

I think a part of their initial attraction to Beto is that are always looking for the next Obama. Dems know their policies only appeal to a certain percentage of the population so they have to wrap them in some unobjectionable form to obscure the flaws. If you disagreed with Obama (no matter what he was selling), you were racist. If you question Greta, you are a child molestor. Poor Beto was just too hetero and too white for the national level. But Pete might have worked for them if they gave him the chance. I suspect we will see him again.
