2019 Recruiting - Football

I can tell you he is going to be a hard gainer. It's not impossible to put on some weight especially if he can do so in the lower body, but his upper body strength is going to max out pretty low for an offensive linemen.

I see what you mean Austin Bill, and I have to agree with you. But here's hoping he proves us wrong.

Its possible the coaches see something else position wise-- maybe D end or Tight end if he has good hands and a little speed. it wouldn't be the first time a position change from HS to college has turned into gold.

DKR and 120 schollies?

DKR had 150 scholarships, plus academic scholarships that didn't count against the limit. Lots of guys got a great education and "T" ring so DKR didn't have to look at them in a different color jersey on Saturday.

I've heard all kinds of stories that a athlete would want to go to same school as his girl and all of a sudden girl gets an academic scholarship so they both go to Texas.

Another guy on the radar is 4-star DT Siaki Ika, who is from the same school (Salt Lake City East) as Junior Angilau. He is the #1 player in Utah. So, of course, the CBs are 100% Bama. Buuuut, they might be full (have 7 DL commits already, LOL, plus 5-star DT Ishmael Sopsher has not yet decided). So we make the effort.

Siaki Ika, East, Defensive Tackle

And, of course, we have this

UCF in Orlando is making a late push for LB Marcus Tillman, who is also from Orlando
He is on his OV to Austin today and is expected to be an early signer for us

The Alabama fan base does not think much of our chances for Sanders
Or of us generally

we offered another 2019 OT today. Dawand Jones (6'8,360) from Indianapolis. Also had offers from Div-I programs in BBall. One of those 3-stars who started getting a bunch of offers from big programs right at the end

Jones has had offers over last 5 days from Texas, Oregon, Auburn and Florida

Bama’s flying high and, of course, it all started at the Rose Bowl in 2010 against us. They were very lucky, there’s no other way to spin it. Well educated Bama fans will concede the point. But all good things do come to an end.

If we can prevail at the Sugar Bowl against a team that probably should have beaten Alabama both this year and last, who knows, perhaps the power shift will have begun.

It’s going to happen. Why can’t it start 1/1/19?

Sounds like JUCO OL Myron Cunningham will not make it to campus for a visit. And so we are out of it

Because of all the sudden attention from big schools, OL Dawand Jones (Indianapolis) has decided not to sign early due.
Florida, tOSU, Texas and USC have all offered

Peyton Powell no longer visiting BU

Turns out Powell is sneaky and did visit Baylor
And may go see TTU as well
Both schools are saying he can play early at QB
Not sure what our coaches think about all of that

Powell is one of those recruits that either was going to surprise me or transfer. I don't see him being a guy that was going to come in and contribute early.

As far as I can tell, we did not offer any of JUCO OL Jay Williams, OL grad transfer Tommy Kennedy or DT Antoine Whitner (IMG Academy) this weekend

Supposedly the reason may be bc Herman did not get to meet with them face-to-face, which he does before we offer. So it could still happen for one or more of them. We will see
