2019 Recruiting - Football

So the story on this, according to TFB, is that the Hookfin family just now discovered all the Briles business at Baylor. TFB says the family is new to college football and never really followed it until now
Man I wonder who could have enlightened them on what went on at that fine program?

Status of Shepherd?

Nahlin says t was a "wild day behind the scenes" with Shepherd. At one point he had an "NLI in hand."

Nahlin says he talked to both staffs today with the outcome that he will probably OV to aggy after the dead period and not sign until NSD2.

It sounds like it might have been the players just playing a joke on the recruiting reporters
I get it, gotta be tough for these high school seniors seeing the adults so up in arms about their decisions (myself included) I bet there are times they must just shake their heads.
Like the Cain story in the grocery store.

Well it’s not all wins and losses, ticks me off greatly that I just saw A&M scroll across with a recruitment ranking of THREE!!! And us at nine, d*** that hurts.

There are other kinds of stories too about other kinds of recruits. For example, that 5-star Oregon landed was supposedly openly asking to be paid and would not visit or even talk to teams otherwise. Some chatter out there about similar stuff with Sanders too.

More evidence that the kid is head case! Time to walk away.

The Athletic says McCoy will be signing today but privately.

He will not reveal his decision until All-American Bowl which is Jan 5 (Sat) on NBC. This is the game in San Antonio and it will have lotsa of the top recruits from this season (18 five-star players)

He has already been accepted by both Texas and USC.

He (JS) seems to be showing signs of a risk! So, would you just let him move on with the assumption that he will waste a great opportunity or do you pursue him in hopes that with proper direction, he will mature as a person and be a major contributor for the Horn's.?

If missing out on Cain and Sanders means getting Evans next year I can live with that. I've seen enough of Evans to know he's the real deal. I think he's better than Keontay. I think Brown is more of a system back like J. Gray, but I hope he proves me wrong. In a pinch LJH, Smith, Whittington and probably even Roschon can play RB. I even said LJH was the best RB on the team this year. I just wish we had signed Big Jordan Humphrey.

I really believe games are won in the trenches anyway. Wish we had done a little better there.
