2018 Recruiting - Football

Some quotes from Ayodele Adeoye (via Brian Dohn, a 247 natl guy) --

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- It came as a shock when Ayodele Adeoye, the No. 5 inside linebacker in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, committed and signed with the Longhorns last month. His Crystal Ball heavily favored Oklahoma, and there was a lot chatter he would wind up with the Sooners, but there was a huge reason he chose Texas. Defensive coordinator and linebackers coachTodd Orlando.

"He recruited my brother (Adewale Adeoye) a couple of years back, so we had a relationship. He offered me later in my junior year, and the relationship I had with him, I felt really good. I felt like what he could do for me, it was the best thing for me. Coach Orlando, the guy who is going to develop me, is pretty good at what he does. His history with developing linebacker, you look at (Texas') Malik Jefferson from sophomore to junior year, it was a big change and I feel like that is because of Todd Orlando."

"They were pretty close. I like Lincoln Riley, and I like (inside linebackers coach) Tim Kish, but I felt Todd Orlando was a better coach."

"I'll be behind (Anthony) Wheeler, and I'll be rotating with Gary Johnson a little bit. (Orlando) told me we would work on everything once I get there."

LB DaShaun White on Malik's decision (via the AAS) --

“It was big for me to see whenever Malik Jefferson declared for the draft because now things are sort of wide open. Just seeing that those other two spots are wide open, it’s a big deal.”

This is a Bewster tweet at Waddle
Waddle himself says Herman was the first to offer him, but while still at UH
So, it sounds like aggy think he should go to either Houston or Texas

I just private messaged Chip Brown on FB.
“Great job on your recruiting of Bonitto for OU”
Just kept it simple and to the point.

He sort of fits the stereotype of the all of the US media now. He makes the story about him

A snippet of Holland's post UA Game comments -

— BJ Foster was amazing. The five-star Texas signee was one of the biggest standouts of the night as he made several bone crushing hits. There were some question marks about Foster since he didn’t play safety at all this season, but he answered them tonight. Foster is a headhunter and was solid in coverage as well. Simply put, the dude was an absolute monster tonight. Texas fans should definitely be excited about their future playmaker in the secondary.

— Four-star Texas defensive tackle commit Keondre Coburn was also impressive tonight. Despite playing in a 4-3 and not playing in his natural nose position, Coburn was extremely disruptive. He always got a good push up front and blew up a number of plays, including a screen pass that resulted in a sack. Coburn also logged a tackle for loss and commanded some extra attention in the first half. It is imperative for Texas to hang onto him moving forward.

Another Texas player at that UA Game that caught people's attention was Maurice Washington of Cedar Hill. Usually listed as an ATH, he showed potential in the slot, a position we are recruiting now. He is supposed to have improved his schoolwork this Fall as well.

Here is a snippet from a UF 247 writer--

RB Maurice Washington: The Cedar Hill (Texas) Trinity Christian product was clearly the surprise of the week. The 6-foot, 175-pound back looked explosive running the ball and on pass routes during practice. Washington opened the game with 20 yard touchdown run, followed that with a 27 yard touchdown reception, and he later added a 63 yard kickoff return. Nebraska is in the drivers seat to land Washington, who has raised his stock over the week.
