2017 Recruiting

Megan Walker's visit is scheduled and what a great weekend to come to Texas!!
Charlie Strong has to do his part now!!
 
The Notre Dame game is obviously our biggest home football game in a very long time. With the game being on Sunday evening, her official visit will have to run Saturday through Monday as a recruit can only spend 48 hours on their visit, I believe.
 
It's great that Megan Walker will be visiting when we have a marquee game. Although we are the underdogs to Notre Dame, hopefully the game will be competitive and the atmosphere loud and electric. The only possible downside is that she'll get to see Notre Dame play twice in a matter of a few weeks. Hopefully Karen will work her magic.
 
Megan Walker would be best recruit to Texas athletics since KD. I've seen this young lady play multiple times, and shes a hybrid between Maya Moore and Jewel Lloyd. She can create her own shot against anyone, and defenses have to know where she is at ALL times. We're at the elite level of recruiting right now, but this would be a game changer. Her and Joyner together for 3 years would be a problem.............

Take note guys and gals, this is how dynasties start
 
That's huge news! Wonder if Coach Aston was around, as well. And, if Megan's parents were with her in Austin.

We can hope. This is nice. Interestingly, the folks on the Boneyard at UConn think it's between Notre Dame and UConn, Texas barely mentioned. A sizeable group of Huskie fans fear it's probably going to be Notre Dame. That doesn't mean they're right, of course, but that's where they're at. They haven't discussed Texas much at all.

That's pretty much their attitude when discussing any recruit that has ND, UConn and Texas among their favorites. Megan would be a nice start to showing them that Texas is a factor that can't be discounted when talking about high level recruits.
 
Rewatched the Patterson video. Love the way she can finish layups through contact, with either hand. She's got a wicked crossover and is an outstanding 3pt shooter. When she comes on board, she is going to join an already dynamic group of guards.

A lot can happen in recruiting but makes me wonder if, after Brooke graduates, Karen uses Alecia and Chasity together like she did with Celina and Brooke last season - Alecia doing most of the ball handling allowing Chasity to spot up from deep and drive to the bucket as opportunity allows. Would be a net gain on the offensive side of things because Alecia, from everything I've seen, is a much better midrange shooter than Celina.

Of all the schools that Megan is considering, isn't Texas the only school she has not visited (until yesterday)? If so, that could explain why we are being dismissed by ND and UConn fans. I was impressed that Texas was in her final 3 choices considering she had not visited.
 
Even if lightning strikes and Megan picks the good guys, seems to me we could still use a post. I haven't forgotten about Jatarie and I'm still hopeful for Sedona in 2018, but we would still have room for one more in 2017. I haven't heard anything concerning mutual interest with the #2 2017 Post, and #10 PN-ranked player Jade Williams.

Have I missed something?

Hoopgurlz lists Jade Williams' schools of interest as UConn, Notre Dame, Duke, and Utah.
 
Doesn't look like Megan lives on Twitter.
Here's her last tweet seven hours ago: Looks like a response to Coach Thompson's tweet about her being a "rare breed."
