I am not sure I can describe the high I have had for the last 3 days, simply amazing. the best part is how everyone I know who isnt a longhorn has called me to say congrats and also tell me that was the best game they have ever seen in their life
The trip/game was so draining my wife and I have both lost our voices, she is in bed sick and I am still a zombie. I think I might be just a tad low on dopamine for the next 10 yrs.
Good lord, it is so hard to describe the feeling in the stadium.
I have a vid of the winning TD run by vince shot from my digital still, totally crappy quality, but the imagery is unreal. I am probably not allowed to post it but if you PM me I can see what the rules are and what we can do.
I have never seen such a clutch performance in any sport anywhere. What a fantastic game. The defense came up huge when it absolutely had to. Great feeling to beat the best team of all time. WE ARE TEXAS! ! ! ! !
2005 National Champions in Baseball and Football. Basketball is next.
Im still in shock really...we won the ******* title
thats why no matter what Vince does...nothing can take away what happen. rather Vince comes back or not...he gave everything to UT and we won the title!!!
I just finished re-watching the game (thanks to TIVO) and all I can say is that it's just as good the second go 'round..............un-friggin' real!!!
I still cannot explain the way I feel. My dad and my brother and I just sat around today rewatching the game, high fiving like kids, and hugging. It was such a great experience. I can scratch off one of the things I had to see before I died.
Thank you Mack Brown, and Vince Young, and every one of the coaching staff and players. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thanks to all the staff, and Dodds, and every single person responsible for bringing Mack Brown here. I can die a happy, happy man.
Don, I too graduated in 70. It, indeed, has been a long dry spell. Not just to win a MNC, but to bear a really great team. coming from behind and winning the way they did, made it worth the wait.
I hope the next MNC is not that far away. I don't think it will be if Vince come back. And until he says different, I think he will. I'm too old to wait another 35 years!
Just got back from the LA and I just wanted to tell the team THANK YOU for making htis an unforgetable year and WHAT A PERFORMANCE!!!
This is by far the best team I have ever seen play!! Good luck to all the seniors as they continue their careers or go into a profession and good luck to anyone else that decides to move on!! What a season!!!
For the first time I am going shopping for all my UT football National Champion gear this week and I expect to drop a few hundred dollars.
Thanks Champions!!!
Just got back. It took 2 days to recover after we got back. I've never seen so many burnt orange paraphernalia in a city that's not Austin, though Dallas came close in the closing weeks. We couldn't stop yelling and screaming. We didn't want to leave the stadium. It was insane. We waited for 3 hours before we left. The next two days we spent at and around Venice beach. Longhorn stuff everywhere. They should have brought more Nat’l champion T's. They sold out in record time.
I'm still in shock. We're not a has-been? We're not #2? Or second in the conference? We're the BEST?
A group of us went to both Rose Bowls and NEVER would have though in a million years with a million-to-one odds, that the script would come out the same. Vince deserves everything he gets in the coming years. Phenomenal!!!!
What a feeling. Being there when VY scored on 4th and 5, and then when the clock hit 0:00..... man, it was just incredible. Euphoric. I still can't believe it. God Bless Mack Brown, Vince Young and the rest of the 2005 National Champion Texas Longhorns!!!!
Down here in Corpus everybody is suddenly a Longhorn fan. Yesterday while at HEB, I saw an Aggie shaking his head at the site of all the NC gear walking around the store.
A huge thank you to the team and the coaches. It's been a week I'm still numb from that game. Has to be the greatest ever in college.
Mack has done a great job the last two years with the changes that he has made in staff. That said though we do owe some debt to the prior coaches and players who helped build it. Mack did not do it overnight (see Stoops) but he got it DONE!
I doubt we will ever see another Vince Young and I look forward to watching him on sundays. Even when we were down to our last play I was confident he'd find a way to get the ball in the endzone.
does anyone know a link to the usc football chat rooms? i wanna see if they are still whining and blaming the officials. a friend of mine told me that some guy on the cali radio was trying to say VY put grease on his jersey.
