I listened to the Horns on KLBJ from Dallas for years before going to Texas, I attended regionals while in school and after school and had started to wonder if the CWS championships were something of an old Roger Clemens highlight.

To see this team overcome its early season struggles and to be there to watch them celebrate the final out was incredible. I still don't think it has totally hit home yet.

To the players that I didn't get to thank and congratulate after the game, thanks for the memories of 2002 and best of luck whether it is at UT or wherever you may go!

This was a fantastic team effort- from the coaches, to the players and the fans!
Way to go Champs! And as Augie said " your life will never be the same"!
Hook'em Horns!

This season seemed to have two differences (ignoring talent) - Augie would slip a new starter or pinch-player in and often that player delivered - a hit, good fielding due to increased speed, SB, etc. And the pitching coach made a LOT of quick (sometimes it seemed too quick) changes to the bullpen, over and over.

Is this correct? Did more changes-in-personnel deliver more positive results this season than in Augie's prior 5? Didn't the quicker changes in pitchers end up with better results?

Or am I just forgetting these same tactics with the same results in years past? I think the player-changes this season paid off a whole lot more than ever before.

While attending the Big 12 Tournament in Dallas, 2 Nebraska players sat right behind me early on in the Tournament, after we had lost to A & M. ( Left & Center fielders.) Nebraska players chatted it up with me and told me they thought UT Baseball team was SOFT! I said "Gee, I thought we were the Conference Champions! They said we had stolen a game in Lincoln! Anyway, it was a relatively pleasant conversation & I so enjoyed watching them be the first team to leave OMAHA!

Congrats to the Horns!!! Way to go guys.
Congrats to the players and coaches on an excellent season. All the hard work has paid off, and you deserve to be National Champs!!!

#1 - I like the sound of that.

19 years is TOO long to wait between baseball Championships.

Whaddya say we go for two in a row???

Congrats to the Texas Longhorns. For the first time in awhile, baseball has been really fun again. Thanks for your hard work.

I am personally going to see that this stays on the first page until we win another national champion in one of the big 3. And no, it's not for cheap posts.

Jive, also my mission, is to keep this page at the top of our fine Hornfans, to also remind anyone who's been on a deserted aisle for a while, that we rock, and are No.1. Congratulations to our fine UT team, our fine fans, and what a great year this is.

Congratulations once again on a great year! I had an awesome time going to the games and I look forward to seeing our drafted players make in the big leagues someday. I also look forward to seeing our returning players, such as Omar, Moss, Reininger, Holleman, Sultemeier, Espinelli, Jordan, Simmons, Huston, and hopefully Dustin, defend the National Championship. Like Coach Garrido said, "it ain't against the rules to win next year."

Hook'em,
Texas97

Congrats guys, it was well deserved and I am so proud of every single player on the team and can't wait till fall practice starts

Hook em

Our UT baseball team brought back to Austin an incredible remembrance of years ago. This is a real class act of fine young men who played their hearts out and have given this town something to talk about , and the talking is still going on. UT PRIDE-BASEBALL our GUYS, Hook'em
