Congratulations to Omaha Augie, and the 2002 Texas Longhorns National Champions in baseball.
As I stood in my seat watching the dogpile on the field in Omaha, in 1983, I never dreamed it would take 19 years to return to that glorious pinnacle of the college baseball world. So many great UT teams since then fell short to the goal, teams with superstar talent that couldn't quite get it done.
The 2002 Horns showed us what teamwork is all about, without any first round draftpicks, by stepping up and supporting each other whenever one had a bad day. Truly inspirational. Thank you Augie and the entire Horn team.
Way to go Carmichael, and Huston Street, Jeff, Omar, Kalahni, and all the rest.

UTterly fantastic!!!! Congratulations to the 2002 National Champion Univ. of Texas Longhorns, and Coach Garrido, and all coaching staff. And yes congratulations to Deloss Dodds as the athletic director of our fine University. What a great day to be a Longhorn fan and alumnus. Thankyou Horns for making me proud. Jesus, what a clutch group of players. Talk about confidence!! Can we borrow a little of this for our football team? I'm hoping we see that this year on the gridiron.

How about putting Huston Street in a UT football uniform, and putting him in the forth quarter of every game this fall. That way he would set a new collegiate record---that would be 14 saves in baseball, and 14 saves in football, to win 2 Natiional Champiionhsips in one year--baseball, and football. Yeeeehaaaaaa!!!!!!
