What will you do If TH Kneels?

i.e., of course a little racism exits, and, if you don't rub our noses in it, but ask politely, we will eventually grant you a few more rights out of the goodness of our hearts because whites are basically a magnanimous group. ;)
This is utterly false. White people are the most magnanimous on earth in terms of charity (in terms of volunteer hours and $ donated). All you have to do is to ask nicely.

I am certainly not saying that and honestly think you are making quite a leap to get that from my post.
I'm saying a little racism exists like a little of everything bad exists, and, of course, we should all work together to show care and concern for one another and resolve issues we all are facing. The last part of your post is, well...fabricated by your own hearing and not remotely within my sentiment, beliefs, or expression as stated.
Just when I thought we were about to plant some flowers together and sing kumbaya...I had to see this^^^^^^.

If you don't think this is causing more longtime fans to stop buying tickets and merchandise than bringing in new fans doing the same, I can't help you. I won't be buying anything and my portion of revenue for UT from my premium plan on DirecTV to have LHN will be gone soon. If they don't care, that's fine by me.
HIC in the year 2020 Texas Athletics will take a huge reduction in revenue in a range of over 50% of the $227M from 2018 last year I remember.
CDC has made $53M+ in expense reductions in anticipation of the lost revenue. Each LHF member and season ticket donor was given the option of attending, rollover to 2021, donating as charitable contribution for 2020 or full refund. A refund for the reduction in the loss of the 6th home game has been processed.
CV19 and the rules set by State of Texas have reduced capacity to 25% or less than 24K inside DKR. The reduction in revenue is capacity related as there are plenty of fans wanting tickets.
If your principles say you choose to boycott Texas Athletics bc of the University position on the issue of racism that the players requests/demands then that is your choice and I respect your decision.
The loss of revenue from the boycott will be lost in the red ink of 25% capacity.
I plan to attend all the home games, TXOU in the Cotton Bowl and any post season games to support the team. I am a supporter of the whole institution that Texas Football represents and will support any effort to improve on the very few issues of concern raised that can make UT better and not discard the whole for a very small part of the total.
I will be there supporting the Longhorns for the season and I hope the capacity will be 100% for 2021.
We both have options.
It is a free country after all is said and done.

Ignored in this grand debate is that blacks kill whites in far greater numbers than vice versa. I reiterate my point is that BLM is focusing on the wrong problem. Racism can be negated with better education and better life strategies.

You underestimated yourself. ;)
(I keep finding old replies from you to posts where you replied earlier without use of the very American "reply" button..)

That's funny. I thought the same and had edited that out prior to seeing this^^^^^^
so as not to seem oblivious.
For me....that was not much, though.

Raw numbers, yes. Rate, no.

Fact check: Misleading bar graph presents distorted interpretation of black and white murder rates

"If you’re a white person in 2013, Nuzzo explained... your chances of being murdered by a black person are two in a million. Meanwhile, if you’re a black person in 2013... your chances of being murdered by a white person are five in a million."

If you look I think you'll see this^^^^^whole thing hmwas parsed through previously today by Stan and others....IDK...just a suggestion..
Galvestonhorn said there was an “obvious and factual reason.”

I want him to tell me what is the “obvious and factual reason”.

Oh moon
You meant the kid who was defending himself?
You know the A in AR15 does not stand for assault.
Yes, I mean the kid that illegally brought a firearm to a protest and shot 3 people.
Whether he was "defending" himself is yet to be decided.
How do you think his actions would be received if he was black?

And of course leave it up to Reuters to create a false narrative. And of course 90% of the population have no clue what the numbers mean, they just take it at face value. Of course the rate is higher when there are 5x as many whites as blacks.

The only way to equalize the numbers is to compare the % of blacks that commit murders against whites and vice versa. Then you have a % of blacks twice as likely to commit a murder against whites as the other way around.

The same applies blacks being shot by cops at a disproportionate rate. The black crime rate is 5X what is is for whites and thus have 5x as many interactions with police per capita. Therefore you would expect there to be an equal number of blacks and whites killed by police given total population stats, but you don't you have half as many. Police are actually going out of their way to be gentler on blacks than whites. And why shouldn't they? There's not going to be any consequences for shooting a white criminal, even if the cop is black.

Here's the rate through 2008
560px-United_States_homicide_offending_rates_by_race_1980_2008.svg.png

And I picked one year completely randomly for a small snapshot closer to present.
2018 shows felony or serious crime rate per capita:
Whites 76.3% of population and 69% of these crimes
Blacks 13 4% of population and 27 4% of these crimes (* % of offenders goes up significantly if focused on violent crimes)
Hispanics strangely not present in report that I see
Source: US Dept of Justice
Arrests by offense, age, and race

There is a huge push right now to explain this a variety of ways and I am not arguing those things. Just countering your data, as I believe it was too narrowly focused, misleading, and am well aware of the current campaign to discredit the data. We could argue all day about the "whys". Not even most liberal outlets refute the data. They are just focusing on possible -or desired- explanations.

Good, so we are all in favor of Blacks continuing to struggle to eliminate racism, and we are all in on helping them to do that, right?
I've spent plenty of time helping them do it, but therein lies the problem. Every race that's immigrated to the US has taken it upon themselves to assimilate and EARN respect. Every race but one did it within 15-20 years. Why is it one specific race demands it be given to them without doing anything to show they deserve respect?

Can you please answer the following questions:

1. When will black stop committing crime at a rate 5x the rest of the population?
2. When will the race hustlers tell their people they need to change their behavior and earn respect rather than demanding it?
3. When will black people stop making excuses for their plight and blaming whitey when government most of corporate America has bent over backwards to help them out?
4. When will the ghetto stop teaching young blacks you're not a man until you've spent time in prison?
5. When will black people take it upon themselves to be responsible for their own actions?

I've said it here before and I'll say it again. As long as one group is favored over another there will be racism. Just as an example, take a married white forklift driver with 2 kids out of work for 9 mos who just applied for an opening with a Fortune 500 company that has a plant in a small town in southern Ohio. He has a license in 4 of the 7 forklift classes and 12 years of experience. A black man with 1.5 years of experience and a license in 2 of the 7 classes applies. The white man doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of getting the job. Then you wonder why there's racism. How do you think that white man feels when he doesn't know if his kids will eat tomorrow?

And talk about racism, how about a white man applying for a job at a black owned business? I've seen what that looks like.

Of course people like you will say that isn't happening, but I've seen it constantly over my 25 year career and much worse. I've been told 3x by recruiters I was the best candidate, but they had to hire a minority. I've had my own HR dept. tell me I had to hire a minority. I've watched hundreds of people hired for low level positions that don't require a degree, or even a HS education and watched Asians, Hispanics, Arabs, many of whom couldn't even speak English when they started, work their way up into a management position that pays very good, and watch their kids go to Law School, Medical School, Pharmacy School, yet watch 95% of blacks walk off the job in 2 weeks. In fact, I've had probably 10% walk off the job at the first break, telling me this is too hard.

If it's not too hard for Asians, Hispanics and Arabs why is it too hard for blacks? And after I've done my best to try to help them out. Can you tell me that?

Of course a white person growing up in privilege being able to go to Law School and working in your Law Office bubble don't have a clue what real blue collar America is like. And that's where 70-80% of the people in this country live, not in the 2% where you live.

If it's not too hard for Asians, Hispanics and Arabs why is it too hard for blacks? And after I've done my best to try to help them out. Can you tell me that?

Can you imagine that? And despite all your best efforts, too. If only we had more like you ;)

You're saying blacks "immigrated" here.
Were any other "immigrants" enslaved for 200 years, segregated with no voting rights for another 100 years?
Why have blacks had such a hard time. :rolleyes1:

When I was a student in the 60s I read a book about Nam which addressed the concept of Ethnocentrism or the tendency of groups to look at the world thru their own prism and to not interprete the separate experiences of others.
Right now black oriented folks are seeing everything as being about them. The same kind of vision that makes it impossible for some white people to see why some light be offended by seeing statues of Confederate generals all over the place.
Black ethnocentrism is in full dudgeon now and stepping in front of it gets you a crew cut.
TH has never been my cup of tea but so what? I don’t see where he has much choice in his situation other than to take a knee.
All groups tend to have an Other they don’t like and right now offers some extreme and dangerous examples

Hope everything works out in time

@Run Pincher , I was born white and male in Texas.

If you think a black male born on the same date and zip code has the same chance of success in the contest of life you might want to reconsider.

My life experience is much different than you describe above but I would start with equal education opportunity.
