What are you listening to?

There are certain songs I have heard over time that I like but I classify as roller-rink songs.

Escape by Rupert Holmes
If you have a Problem by Billy Swan
Baby I Love You by Andy Kim

There are a couple more but I cannot think of them at the moment.

Here's a dark piece of electronic from Silent Servant, a name that fits. The video is interesting and maybe disturbing. It's a real wtf did I just see type thing. Oozes with attitude.

I'm only posting this to show that with a little guidance and common sense she really could have been something...

Granted, she is singing someone else's song, but still she's got a nice voice.

I will give Miley some guidance. And if she does not perform as requested or expected, she will be punished. I think she needs a good spanking. Which reminds me of one of Naughty Nikki's sig lines.

Nothing says I love you like a good spanking. Do you love me?

During lunch at my desk I dialed up Enya and listened to this song - I have a lot of her music. Turn it up loud and take a listen - see if you like it.

Ew.

My parents were listening to Herb Albert and The Tijuana Brass when I was a kid in the mid to late 60's. Loved them then and now. This song is Route 101, from the Rise album - released in either 1980 or 1981. I have this CD but am listening to this utube version while checking HF and emails. This was one of my good highway tapes / CD's - along with others, I listened to it frequently driving freeways or Interstates in Texas... many times to Austin.

Hope you enjoy:

Here is another HA hit, the theme from 1960's TV program: The Dating Game. Former UT student and Hollywood Star Farrah Fawcett from Corpus Christi appeared on the show. I still have her swimsuit poster from 1976.

I need a harder edge after so much bad baseball lately. This guy was once a pro boxer and fought Roberto Duran.

Taken from their final show which was in Madison Square Garden. It is on a list of shows I wish I could have seen along with Joy Division, The Doors and select others.

What the studio cut sounds like for comparison.

Tonight is early LA Punk night in the Pit.

This album was produced by Ray Manzarek of The Doors. He plays Organ, a solo even, on this song. Brilliant. Such a fun band. So lucky to have been able to see them live back in the day in LA even though I was a minor. The benefits of being a skate punk with friends who had older brothers!

I saw them back in the '80sat a club on Riverside (forget the name of the place now). Great band, great show.

Hell yeah, Walking!

Tonight, we tear things apart.

Austin, in the 80's. The typical story had me and maybe some friends skipping H.S. on Thursday and Friday, making the short drive to Austin and skating for the next few days. We'd catch shows, eat great food and get shot down relentlessly by college girls. But we tried and always felt the next one was the one with no standards or self respect. Two of the bands oft seen were:

Digging through vinyl. Sleep?

and

the build up to the 2 minute mark is so deceptive, so wonderful. sorry to those not into punk.

some fine lads

perhaps the finest music writing/lyrics in any genre. such depth, such meaning.

This is not the track I want to put up and those of you familiar with this band know which it is. Let's just say that it involves a fist. This will have to do.
