I don't think I could come up with a politician he should be less willing to attack. Hispanic? Check. Female? Check. Swing state? Check? Popular Republican governor? Check.

Either support him or Trump will bully you into supporting him. There is no room for unique thought, like not agreeing with Trump's misogynistic or xenophobic comments.

Does being able to check all those markers for Martinez trump day to day problems in economy and living for people in New Mexico?
I was surprised he criticized her and thought I would hear boos for it.
I notice she did not say she would never support Trump

And in all seriousness, what the hell does he expect? If she publicly supports him, it'll end her career.

Why? It seems to me that she's taking the Paul Ryan and Nikki Haley route in pleading for the big tent approach to the Republican Party. Is that a career ender in the new Republican Party?

I would definitely watch this.

Will Bernie Sanders be the Ross Perot for the Democrats this election? Bernie has not been treated fairly by the Democratic party. Of course, like Trump, he's a bit of a carpet bagger to the party given his "Independent" label in Congress yet merely caucuses with the D's. Additionally, unlike other candidates, the only D party member he's helped to raise money for is Debbie Wasserman-Schultz' primary opponent. (BTW- I loathe that woman and hope she loses.)

I have to laugh at Donald Trump's "$10M towards women's issues". Will this be akin to Trump claiming he raised more than $6M for veterans in Iowa when the real figure was far less?

In New Mexico, embracing Trump would kill her in a general election. It's a blue-leaning swing state, but a Latino-friendly Republican can win it. Martinez is ideal, but if she embraces Trump, she'll get hammered.

I'm staunchly anti-Trump, but David French is the best the NeverTrump crowd can do??? Really??? Link. Nothing against French, but if he's a viable presidential candidate, than who isn't?

It's either Trump or Hillary. Choose your poison.

Nobody knows how Trump would govern, but you know what you'll get with Clinton. I don't think the country can stand what would be an extension of Obama's policies for 4 more years. Her Supreme Court appointment would tip the Court's balance for who knows how long, decades perhaps.

I'm willing to gamble with Trump because the alternative is even worse.

I understand this mindset and have voted for the lesser of two evils every time except in 2008, when I voted for Bob Barr (Libertarian). However, the Trump candidacy is different. He isn't just a moderate conservative. He's a departure from conservatism. There isn't even much of a phony allegiance to it. If he wins, it'll change the GOP in a very fundamental way. We won't have a conservative party anymore. We'll have a liberal globalist party and a nationalist workers' party. The conservative movement will be completely in exile, and that's scary.

Today Trump proves that nearly all Republicans will eventually throw their ideals out the window. Paul Ryan endorsed him with the primary reason being "can't afford another 4 years of HRC/Obama".

Meanwhile, Trump flips on advocating nuclearizing Japan and South Korea, claiming he didn't say that when he clearly did on Foxnews.

Has Trump been consistent on anything other than building a wall to Mexico?

If the worst Trump does is build the **** wall I can live with it, not for it but not the worst thing that could happen. Other things will be minimized by Congress, either GOP controlled or Dems if they take over. With Hillary, whom I still project to win, we get the most liberal SCOTUS ever and The American experiment is over.
I will not vote Hillary, never, and will vote for whomever has the best chance to beat her. Only the devil would not get my vote vs Hillary and that might be a hard to distinguish.

"Progressives" are out sucker-punching folks tonight
The media supposedly thought things were so out of hand, they called 9-11 themselves, but the police did not respond. Were they told to stand down?

I'm no Trump fan, but it's hard for me to break Ryan's balls over this. First, he's the Speaker of the House. It would be a huge story and extremely controversial if he didn't back his party's nominee. Just imagine Nancy Pelosi refusing to back Hillary Clinton. Ryan doesn't seek that kind of controversy.

Second, if he didn't back Trump, he'd face retribution from Trump. Look what happened with Susanna Martinez, and she doesn't have anywhere near as much to lose by pissing off Trump. If Trump wins, he can't do much to a governor. However, Ryan would have to actually work with him.

Third, Ryan might fear for his political life a little. Consider Ryan's constituency. It's white, fairly blue collar, and pretty industrial. Trump is probably pretty popular there. Furthermore, some Sarah Palin-backed handjob is mounting a Trump-style primary campaign against Ryan. If Ryan sells out Trump, he'll give a big piece of ammo to this guy. In addition, though Ryan's district leans GOP, it's not impossible for a Democrat to win there. (Obama carried the district in 2008.) I doubt the Democrats would ordinarily see it as a possible pick-up because of who Ryan is, but if Ryan's Republican-leaning constituency is divided and with two third-party options (Libertarian and a so-called "Trump Conservative") on the ballot, the Democrats might smell blood and decide to pour so money into the race.

And what's the downside for Ryan? Yeah, he looks silly to people like us, but at the end of the day, few will fault him for backing his party's nominee, if not enthusiastically. If Trump wins, Ryan has a decent relationship with him. If Trump loses, Ryan can always play the "I'm a loyal Republican who backs the nominee" card.

I guess Trump has said so many nutty things that we barely notice it anymore, but this story is noteworthy. Apparently because he didn't deny the plaintiffs their day in court and because he rejected Trump's assertion that certain documents should have been sealed because they were confidential trade secrets (They weren't.), the judge is a disgrace who should be "looked into" (whatever that means). He even had the audacity to claim he's biased basically because he's of Hispanic ethnicity.

I don't envy Trump's lawyers. Trump is extremely litigious - sues a lot and gets sued a lot, so I'm sure his lawyers make a ton of money off of him. However, he has to be the most difficult client imaginable. There earn every penny they get and then some. However, what do you say to this judge at the next hearing or in your next case? I'd be humiliated to show my face in his courtroom.

The Mayor of San Jose, a Democrat and Hillary shill, blamed Trump for the fracas that took place. Unbelievable.

I don't think these protesters realize just how many Trump voters they are creating every day. Waving Mexican flags and criminally assaulting people who don't think like you do - that's the ticket to victory for Hillary!

I have been anti Trump from the beginning. However, watching protest after protest with Mexican flags waving, cursing and violence makes me more apt to vote for Trump.

Again, anti Trump but the statements regarding nuclearizing Japan and South Korea were totally out of context. Once again, somebody is getting too many talking points from MSNBC and Progressive Radio.

You forgot to include Fox news:

Hillary certainly took at least a few statements out of context but nuclearizing Japan and South Korea was NOT one of them. By any measure his position at one time was that they should have their own nuclear weapons. He could have flip-flopped like on many issues but he certainly said they should have them.
