Trump tweets that he has covid 19

Good man, you picked up on the prepared leftist theme for the day. I saw it was listed as trending on Twitter, with a whopping 5000 tweets, which is about as many as you can get for not even a decent cat video.

But good man for carrying the water that a 74 four year old man who's 1. Been in the hospital for 3 days 2. Has a virus that affects the lungs 3. Walked up two flights of stairs, should be able to stand there apparently without breathing.

2 days ago, Trump was supposed to be at Deaths' own door. Now leftist are whining about how hard he breathes. Quite the disappointment for them.
There's no shame in getting sick and using resources to recover. Hell, judging by the meds that threw at him it appears as if he was in significant respiratory distress. No hydroxycho...whatever the **** it is. Odd.

You must be a south pole duck.

Oh? What medical knowledge and specific knowledge of his condition qualifies you to say that?
I graduated from the University of Oklahoma.

And I read what docs wrote and discussed it with my doctor friends. I'm not a doctor because my mom's OB in Tyler, Texas told her it was OK to drink a little. :|

I never saw or heard, since I don't subscribe to DNC newsletters or watch CNN, that he was ever in significant respiratory distress.

So, we should continue just using your posts as comedy. Got it.

Bubbs, what is really disturbing is that you are more likable as a sooner than the Longhorn fan liberals on this board. Well, Crockett is likable too.

OU Bubba is a great add to this board. He's like Otis from the Andy Griffin show. Gets drunk, goes over to the jail to get himself locked in for the night so he doesn't get into trouble (in OU's case posts OU/leftist themes), sleeps it off, then shuts the computer down and goes back to work. It's great.

I mean, I'll write you a script...

I'm not a doc. However, it's fairly obvious that they attacked his illness as both you and I would like them to, aggressively, as he is in the position as the [former] leader of the free world [that title belongs to Angela Merkle now...but that's another thread]. He received treatment otherwise reserved for patients that not only "got oxygen therapy" but that got it after being intubated and getting "help" from a ventilator. Good on them. All Americans need him not ill. I am not worried at all about his receiving aggressive treatment or even experimental therapies. Now if Jr. got it we might have another discussion. His good health is a national concern.

I've been on this site since at least the Cedric Benson era (RIP). I dabble in politics and get irritated at fighting and have to take breaks. I still wish I could read some of the old "frogstyle" posts in 3:16.

Yeah DD I thought the same thing about the car ride. Had it been Obama it would have been heralded as the greatest demonstration of public caring since, well I don’t know what they’d have come up with. Oh I know, since Jesus appeared to Mary.

This is such a stupid and baseless talking point. I'm not a Merkel hater like most on the Right are. It's probably because I lived in Germany for 7 years, so I was able to see how she handled issues besides just the migrant issue that got global attention. She did a good job on a lot of things even if she handled that badly.

However, this narrative that she's the "leader of the free world" is moronic. If the **** really hit the fan (a big global war, for example), does anyone really think that the rest of the free world would shun the United States and look to Angela Merkel to lead the free world? Really? With what military? With what money? With what natural resources? What would happen is that Merkel, Macron, Boris Johnson, et al would look to the United States for support and leadership, whether the POTUS was Obama, Bush, or Trump. She's the leader of the free world like 6 year old Deez, Jr. is the "Man of the House."

I should have labeled it with a trigger warning... :)

Merkel is leader of the free world? Damn that’s dumb even for a sooner. That’s aggy stupid.

Honestly, I've not even paid attention to it. Stimulus is great until 1/20/21 and then it's "socialism" and unwarranted debt.
That is what happens when the government over steps its bounds and forces businesses to close under threat of incarceration. Socialism at its worst.

Amazing that anyone could call the aid packages bailouts or handouts when what you said is exactly what happened.

Spot on. The shutdowns were arbitrarily and forcefully enforced by politicians exceeding their legal authority. In many cases, liberal mayors have shut down sectors without reason while keeping some sectors going (government, construction etc) despite evidence of similar if not more risk. Republican governors also failed to lead to mitigate the economic devastation the virus response caused. All should face recall elections.

Recessions and plagues only hurt if the public thinks they're your fault to a significant degree.

I don't recall a president being not blamed for a recession that occurs during their presidency. Can you name one? The Great Recession wasn't even Bush's fault and look what happened there. Bewteen that and his Iraq bungle Bush decimated our party. The Senate went to 59-41. Trump has an uphill battle with Covid and a recession that happened during his watch. No amount of PR will change that. Earlier this year before the plague it did look like Trump was going to coast to a 2nd term but he's in a dogfight now.

Edit- On top of this no American president has had to deal with the amount of disinformation from the press that he has, not even Bush.

Correct, since people are stupid enough to think he shut down cities. He doesn't have that authority. But, so what, neither did the people who shut things down.

He was coasting and thus the "hoax" of the direness of Covid. It was possible it was dire in March when it was unknown. Anyone thinking lockdowns or closures are still justified is just a stupid *******.

There is a reason OU ranks in the bottom 5% of university graduate workplace performance.

This recession isn't like others. It's caused by an external force, and there's broad agreement on that. That gives Trump a unique opportunity to avoid responsibility for the recession. However, obviously he has opposition that pushes the narrative that it's all his fault. That's where strong messaging and discipline would make a difference.
