I don't agree. The more I think about this, Zimmerman had every right to follow and observe Martin in his own gated community. He did not have to retreat in his own gated community. He should not have been assaulted in his own gated community and as it appears he was, he had the right to defend himself if he thought his life was in danger, which according to the police report it was. Now it appears the police also did the right thing by investigating and letting Zimmerman go as they had eye witness to the incident and injuries to Zimmerman.
Why didn't Martin do what most kids would do in this situation. Like go on to his fathers girlfriend's house and report it to his dad, or tell Zimmerman where he was going and ask him to follow him to the house. Martin didn't do that, he instead physically assaulted a resident in the gated community that was following and observing him.
It's almost like some people think it was okay for Martin to assault Zimmerman because he was following him and observing him. Even if Zimmerman had words with him, it is not okay to assault him in his own gated community. I do not understand why people think Zimmerman did not have the right to follow and observe someone in his own gated community that he felt was suspicious. "Because the police said not to" does mean he cannot follow and observe someone in his gated community.
