Trayvon Martin story

So you're saying that trying to beat someone within an inch of his life by slamming their head repeatedly against a sidewalk is a perfectly acceptable response to being followed? Or are you sticking with "the police made all that up and Zimmerman deliberately stalked and murdered the kid?"

I don't agree. The more I think about this, Zimmerman had every right to follow and observe Martin in his own gated community. He did not have to retreat in his own gated community. He should not have been assaulted in his own gated community and as it appears he was, he had the right to defend himself if he thought his life was in danger, which according to the police report it was. Now it appears the police also did the right thing by investigating and letting Zimmerman go as they had eye witness to the incident and injuries to Zimmerman.
Why didn't Martin do what most kids would do in this situation. Like go on to his fathers girlfriend's house and report it to his dad, or tell Zimmerman where he was going and ask him to follow him to the house. Martin didn't do that, he instead physically assaulted a resident in the gated community that was following and observing him.
It's almost like some people think it was okay for Martin to assault Zimmerman because he was following him and observing him. Even if Zimmerman had words with him, it is not okay to assault him in his own gated community. I do not understand why people think Zimmerman did not have the right to follow and observe someone in his own gated community that he felt was suspicious. "Because the police said not to" does mean he cannot follow and observe someone in his gated community.

I keep hearing bits and pieces from the Police Report. I did a quick Google search for the Police Report and couldn't find it. I would like to read the Police Report for myself, does anybody have a link?

If Zimmerman was attacked first is not murder. It is a tragedy regardless but to call it murder at this point is quite a reach given the facts currently available.

I do believe the only witness to who struck who first is Zimmerman. The other witness was after the altercation had started. I don't know that for a fact, that is why I want to read thte actual Police Report and not excerpts from it....

What options did Trayvon have? Lets see, go immediatley to his fathers girlfriends house and tell his dad someone is following him ? Nope. Tell Zimmerman he is a guest in the neighborhood and he is going to his dad's girlfreinds house and invite Zimmerman to follow him there? Nope?
Get into a confrontation? Yep.

I find the information concerning women's jewelry and flathead screw driver found in Trayvon's backpack during his graffiti incident interesting. I am waiting to see if that jewelry is conected to a burglary and if so where the burglary took place.

OJ supposebly was not there and Zimmerman is not denying he fired the game, help me with the comparison?

I have googled and googled for the Police Report and kind find nothing but excepts. I even went to the Sanford PD site.

Where did you read the whole Police Report in it's entirety?

I don't know a link what source did you find it on?

Fox and CNN are crediting the Orlando Sentinel who is only releasing bits and pieces of it to prolong the story.

Where did you read the whole report, I would like to read it to make a judgement for myself?

Thanks in advance!

Michtex, It must not be much to it if the DA does not feel the need to make an arrest with all the public pressure to do something. I'd love to know what evidence the lead investgator showed the DA.

So the Lead Investigator was a Narcotics Detective, not a Homicide Detective?

The State Attorney, not the Police refused to arrest or charge him?

The account of what happended at the end of the story seems to contradict what the excepts from the police report said or were summarized and reported.

So alll in all this ABC report is saying the State Attorney did not recommend arrest or charging Zimmerman and he did go to the police station for questioning, first I had heard of these items.

Again, does anybody have a copy of the Police report, not the excerpts? I have searched and searched and have not found anything but the summary and excerpts, why can't we see the whole thing?

The biggest issue to me seems to be the initial process. I'm not convinced he should have been charged, but with all the confusion that's been going on surrounding those initial reports, it seems as if the police did a really poor job on the initial investigation. Whether that is due to the "stand your ground" law, shortcuts taken by the police in presupposing an outcome, poor decisions by the DA or whatever, I think those are questions worth asking.
