The Russians are Coming, The Russians are Coming

My main complaint is that he acted in concert with US neocons that set up the context over the last couple of years. However, Russia is responsible for the invasion and the horrors it causes. Once Russia attacked, Zelensky has been doing the right thing for Ukraine, he is trying to kick out a foreign aggressor.

He could have fled Ukraine for Europe or the US at any point, and he's staying and fighting an aggressor that is much stronger than he is. Calling him "cowardly" is the complete opposite of the truth.

You really need to step back a little. Your visceral and kneejerk contempt for anything the US does is leading you to say ridiculous things. It isn't that there isn't room for criticism. There is, but you take it to a level of presuming the moral equivalence and good intentions of some of the worst regimes and leaders in the world.

You're basically turning into Gore Vidal.

Yeah. I more or less admitted that. Sometimes your reading comprehension is very slow. He is brave to stay in Ukraine no doubt. But how do you know he is fighting? Social media photos? Take a look.

There is lots of misinformation on both sides.

My comments aren't kneejerk. I base my comments on the history of the last 24 years. Just because you are ignorant of the context the facts sound ridiculous to you. Of course I was wrong about Zelensky. Everyone will be wrong in many more ways before this is over.

You once again don't understand. I am not saying Putin has good intentions. I have never said that. I have explained what his stated interests are. You have disagreed thinking he is trying to recreate the USSR. I have asked you for evidence. But you have never provided any. So you are basing your comments on neocon talking points best as I can tell.

I also am not claiming moral equivalence. I am stating the facts about the bad actions of both sides. Both sides are wrong. The US has been in a position of power since 1991 and has made decisions that have lead to this. I follow what George Kennan and others have said over the years.

But starting a hot war is WORSE. Putin has felt he needed to do this for a reason, but that doesn't change the fact that he is a warlord who is now responsible for mass death. I want Ukraine to kick them out.

Yeah, and you have always been Irving Kristol.

Lol. Deez a slow reader. What an arrogant one you are.

zelensky is a stud.

Did you see when the pictures were taken?
A. He’s leading his country in a war zone.
B. He’s coaching southern Appalachian state against Alabama.
C. The rest of those details are foolish to discuss.
D. But, please continue with the arrogance.

Yes. He is leading the country that is the best way to put it. I said as much after I got it wrong. Can you assess a variety of facts that are complicated yet not contradictory in order to form an opinion? Or is it all white hat, black hat?

Disappointingly, India did not come out condemning Russia’s actions. Most of the civilized world has done so. Instead, India walked the line of neutrality and put out a mushy, wish-washy, neutral statement calling generally for deescalation. India was neutral during the Cold War, but leaned a bit towards Russia—especially during the early years. I think they still have lingering hang-ups about ever appearing subordinate to (or even partners with) the UK in anything.

We and India have been cultivating a potential new alliance. They now train with us and Japan in naval exercises. They hate Red China far more than we do, but I don’t like this reluctance to say anything that might upset the Russians.

Are they dependent on Russian oil?

Are they dependent on Russian oil?

Probably not. I read what their energy minister said about 10 years ago. He said they have huge coal reserves they plan on using. They are developing their electricity infrastructure based on domestic coal production.

India is pursuing their own interests which every nation and individual should be doing.

If every individual pursues the best outcome for themselves the best possible outcome will come about for the world.

Yes, I did
With your guilty plea, you are sentenced to three more weeks locked in your basement. You are no longer allowed to make a living defending mules that are attempting to destroy our country by transporting illegals to the U.S. Further, you are sentenced to two years of community service removing feces and used hypodermic needles from the streets of Austin and San Francisco, and must walk anywhere you wish to go in order to save the climate from disaster due to carbon emissions. Failure to comply will result in additional incarceration in your basement. No psychological testing is ordered because we know you are bat sh*t crazy.

Russia has an economic problem with this war as well. $20 billion per day are going into Putin’s effort. Russia’s economy is mediocre to begin with and may get a lot worse with the sanctions. Inflation is about to spike even more there.

Gas sales to Europe will help pay for it.

I think it is already evident that Putin has fu**ed up badly with this move in the eyes of the free world. He will never recover from this blunder, and Russians will suffer even more, if that is possible, for years to come.

Seeing the women and children making Molotov cocktails is chilling.
When you are fighting with everything to lose you do what you must.

I wonder if the Squad or the Woke would do that here?

Very doubtful. By her own admission, AOC had to go to therapy after 1/6 and she was blocks away. Also, gasoline does not mix with her nail polish and makeup routine. She has priorities.

An alliance with the US would be in the interest of both India and the US. China really hates them. And they really hate China.

Except the US is pushing wind and solar energy. India's energy minister already said "no thanks, we are going to mine and burn our coal."
