Just for the point of keeping an accurate historical record, I did not actually 'tune in.' It was sent to me via other means.

Lincoln was a horrible President. His war led to the death of 600,000+ Americans. And he signed off on total war against American civilians.

Those guys are reprehensible on several levels.

Yes. States and the people in them have the right to self-government. If they want to be in or out of the Federal Government, it should be up to them. Lincoln threw dissenters in jail. He unconstitutionally created West VA so he could get some extra electoral votes.

The Southern States seceded for a horrible reason, in order to preserve slavery. Absolutely horrible. But then Lincoln did so many of his own awful things. To use him as a name to make the Republican Party Great Again vs Trump, is quite telling.

He attached the CSA not for slavery, but to bring the tax money back.
 
We know slavery would have died out. Could the CSA including Texas have survived on its own.

I don't see why not. If trade was similar to today, it is possible we would be materially the same as now.

Who knows. It would have taken too long since slavery is so bad. It would have had a stagnation effect on the economy for sure.

Again, a real journalist would ask him what parts of it are false. "I'm not gonna respond to that" wouldn't be an acceptable answer.

I admit I originally interpreted this as he was not wearing pants at home, and made the mistake of standing up when he thought he was off camera. I think alot of people on Zoom are not fully clothed on the bottom half

But I guess it was much worse than I first assumed
