I used to think the same way, but French beer is actually underrated. They're so famous for their wine, so we don't think about their beer. However, beer from Northern France is often pretty darn good. Remember that Belgium is pi$$ing distance from France, and they make some of the best beer in the world. It's mostly small breweries that aren't exported to the US, but if you're in the area, give them a chance. They're quite good.

I agree. My theory is the Germans spent quite a bit of time in France and taught them well.

I thought you got sent to Devil's Island if you drank beer in France?

Chris Matthews went on Morning Joe to complain about PDJTbeing too aggressive. /someone sent me this. Couldn't say it better

You get more of that in the eastern regions of France. For example, if you get a beer in the Alsace, it'll usually be very similar to a German lager.

In northern France, it'll be more like a Belgian beer.

Been there, done that. Always Got back to Köln or München as fast as I could.

Apples to oranges. A Kölsch (Köln) or a Hell, Weisbier, or Dunkel (München) are great beers. In fact, my go-to, everyday beers are Ettaler, Paulaner, and Stiegl (mainly because I can get them on base for about a third the price of comparable beer off base), but they're totally different from the French beer I'm suggesting. If you had said you got back to Brugges or Vleteren, that would make more sense.
