Honestly, I sympathize to a point. It was a stupid mistake to make a stupid point, but I agree that a few seconds of idiocy shouldn't define a human being. However, there is a colossal hit mob on Twitter that far more often attacks conservatives and just regular people. Has she ever expressed sympathy for or called for restraint in those situations? Not that I'm aware of.
But it wasnt a few seconds. That mistake made it thru multiple layers of liberal news people. They had pre-made the graphic and had it ready to go. Which means the on-air people had already spoken with the production people ahead of time. No one caught the error. And the criticism was not all directed at her, but she is acting like it was. This is a common flaw for them, thinking its all about them. The mature response would have been to say "whoops," and laugh it off. Show some humility. It was a great chance for her to gain followers. But she blew it. Which shows she is too immature to be an editor for the NYT. But good luck getting the NYT to say that either publicly or to her.
