Texas WBB 2024-2025 Season

FYI

Email came today notifying that tickets for the SEC Tournament can now be requested. All tickets purchased thru the Texas ticket office will be located in Sec 106 (it’s in the corner near one of the team benches). Baby has been stuck in a corner!

Interesting....

Preston is a kid that’s easy to root for. She’s got a little more offensive game than expected. It’ll be fun to watch her game grow. And behind the scenes, she appears to have academics and future life in her crosshairs.

Now that the Ole Miss game is over with, I'm curious to see if Texas moves up over the likes of LSU. Afterall, Texas played three games this week, (who does that?) and has several more wins over ranked teams than LSU. Granted, LSU has only one loss, but they've played hardly no one to date.

Updated Net Ranking has Texas #3

At risk of sounding petty, I'd rather not see TCU in the top 10. I'd been neutral on TCU, but Prince's comments about Texas after transferring and HVL just in general moved me a little more to the "don't like" side.

I’d rather players who want to play in Texas having one clear choice. Texas owning all of the Top 10 real estate would be my preference.

(And I agree with the earlier comment on Prince. She burned that bridge for me.)

Just had a thought looking at the rankings. We were all a little frustrated by the "late" start our team got with games. But at 22 , we have had played the most (or tied) games of the top ranked teams. Just an observation.

I need to rant just a minute about Charlie Crème’s bracketology. Texas is ranked #5 in the polls and #3 in the Net Ranking and he’s got the Longhorns as a #2 seed and overall #8 in UCLA’s Region. I’d like to hear his reasoning.

I know it means absolutely NOTHING but I’d still like to grill him over it. He’s an idiot

I'm a wee bit curious about that myself......

These next 3 games appear winnable - Missouri, A&M, and Vanderbilt. The next 3, however, will be a buzzsaw - SC #2, Kentucky #12 (away), and LSU #7.

Texas could go 3-3 in these next 6.

If that happens, brace yourself for the insane coaching staff attacks, second-guessing, and condemnations that this Board does so well.

4-2 would be stellar. 5-1 would be #1 seed material.

Definitely going to be a tough row to hoe... that Vandy game could be a tough one also.

Better than sunshine and rainbows and posters sticking their heads in the sand pretending everything is perfect.

When I think fan: realistic, pragmatic, logical, serious all come to mind. No wait. I meant banking. When I think of banking…

Exactly right! One can still be a supportive, die-hard fan and recognize when there is something that can be tweaked for the better. People who have coached competitively (at whatever level) often have different perspectives than others... including the coach who they are supporting and a fan of.

It doesn't make anybody right or wrong, and it certainly doesn't mean they don't support the team. It's merely an opinion from a perspective.

If anyone on this board truly knows the game better than Vic Schaefer, they’ve left a lot of money on the table. But part of being a fan is thinking we know better than the coach despite the balance in our bank accounts.

It’s all good. :bevo:

Vic is a great head coach; he is not perfect, though. I'm not sure what was wrong with the team last night, but our defense was awful. Doesn't matter to me which coach(es) take accountability for that, but our players seemed clueless for a lot of the game at home against Mizzou getting beat down the court for easy layups, getting backdoored several times for easy baskets, and leaving 3-point shooters wide open.
