Texas vs Oklahoma game thread

BUT
THIS HASVGOT TO STOP..NOW...
IF IT DOESN'T ...WE ARE GOING TO LOSE A GAME WE SHOULDN'T. And it will be
Tom Hermans fault for assuming to go conservative and play not to LOSE. Are you listening Tom?
Yes, Coach Herman absolutely, positively must stop calling those holding penalty plays. I mean, why in the world would he call the holding play at such a crucial time? Why doesn't he just call the TD play every time. Ridiculous! :brickwall:

Are you smoking pot? I never said he Tom called holding..I love this coach, but after KSU, and now this, I can clearly see a change in the offensive approach, a lack of intensity and an obvious attitude that the "margin of lead" will be sufficient. Well...you can dang well see it almost wasn't. All I am saying is play the game tje same way ALL 60 MINUTES, regardless of whatever point margin.

Nah, it's a football discipline mistake. That DOES fall on the coach. Look at the penalties KSU had, oh wait...

Herman has made me a believer again. Strong was the rebound girl. Herman still has some things to work on and I am ok with that!

The play calling was perfect. Execution was not. We got 12 and 7 yds on 1st down on those holding plays. Make those plays and not hold and we win by 2 scores. OU could not stop us at that point so ground and pound was the right call. I know on the Ingram run he had already broken containment when Shak held. That was just some stupid football right there by him. Rest of the game they played great. But the mantra was finish and this team finished.

People here give him a lot of heat, but Tim Beck called a great game today. The execution wasn't the best down the stretch, but can't blame the coach here. The D on the other hand was clearly out-schemed on all of the OU scores. Hopefully Orlando recognizes this and can be corrected.

As Texas clinched probably its foremost victory in nine, long, sighing, sagging, humbling, trying, nationally irrelevant years, its fans in the Cotton Bowl on Saturday opted for a chant that illustrated again the enchantment of sports — the meaning, the poignancy, the beauty, the empathy, the heart. “OU sucks, OU sucks,” it went, and that seemed to be its chorus and verse.
From the Washington Post (might be a paywall)
