My perception:
1. No one who watched that game--NO ONE--thought Vanderbilt looked anywhere near as good as we are, even this day. They are not in our league and it was obvious watching it.
2. Never once in that game did Vanderbilt have any decent chance to win the game. They showed they were okay, and with a lot of grit and luck (and penalties) could come "close to being close" to UT on this one day.
3. We had people hurt playing Georgia. They unloaded on us, and were even willing to give us targeting/ejections just to hurt us. I think we recalibrated our willingness to not just win on the scoreboard, but try to knock that team out as a contender for the year. That's the way Alabama and LSU play, and we saw last week what a 2024 SEC fistfight looks like, and we just beat Vanderbilt the **** up. By the time we play Georgia again, if we get there, probably neither team would have all its players, but we could have Bond back. It sucks losing players, but I think the SEC is a war of attrition, and this year, we are built for that. And on that note, we have a backup QB which is unusual in a non-qb-controversy situation.
