I think it would set a horrible precedent and could hurt your chances with getting other QB's and players in general. It's easy for me to say that it needs to be done (which it does) but there are a lot of implications at play.

It would be easier to get Ewers an extra million, have the medical staff "find" something that is still wrong and have him "voluntary" sit out the rest of the year.

He's killing his draft stock as is right now.
