I just don't think you are going to win consistently against the best teams without more balance between inside shooting and 3 pointers. We shot threes 6 times, and they shot 30 of them. We set up no plays or screens for our 3 point shooters. We don't get to benefit from any inside-outside game. it goes inside and stays there. Watching the Oklahoma players, they have great confidence in the three point shot. They were missing them like crazy in the first quarter, but that didn't stop them. They knew (and the audience knew) that they would start hitting them at some point. We are basically afraid to shoot threes. If Shay or Shaylee miss one or two, they pretty much stop. I don't know if they are told not to shoot them or if they just pick up on Vic's anxiety about them and his drive to get it inside. It is not worse to miss a three than a two, and we certainly miss a lot of two's. And if you make a three, it is worth half again as much. Jennie B has the math down right. I don't have the time to check, but I bet we shoot less threes than any other highly ranked team.I am bad at math tonight. That's a 24-point differential in 3-point scoring.
