Texas High School Football

Well tomorrow night the 112th edition of Marshall Mavericks vs Longview Lobos (or as my Marshall buddy likes to call them the Low Blows). I'm afraid the Mavs are in for a pasting as Longview appears to loaded currently ranked #1 in 5A Div 1
 
Katy was a great game against Craig Stump & Atascocita. Game was tied the whole time with no more than 7 points separating them. Katy scored late in 4th, then held on downs to win 35-28. Lots of talented HS kids in that game.

I kept up with him because he was HC at Westbrook before Atascocita. I knew we were at a disadvantage recruiting any player that was coached by him.
 
I would like us to get Jack Kayser. I have watched him since last year and he always gets stronger as the game goes on. Westlake was in trouble last night and was behind a lot of the game until JFK went off on them in the 2nd half. My worry is we will think he is too small for RB and he will go to K-State and be the next Deuce Vaughan. JFK is a junior this year so plenty of time to see him play, tho.
 
Indeed. Roschon was there last week and again tonight. Katy has beautiful facilities but much too small. There wasn't a seat on the PNG side (only 6,000) and they filled the grass berms in the endzones. That slot T is really hard to defend, and PNG had either 3 or 4 fourth down stops.

I told people Jeff was a homerun hire. Although I haven't talked to him, and I doubt he would admit it, but Todd Dodge is the one responsible for getting him the interview and offer. Not sure how long he'll stay, but he has already done something that neither his dad nor granddad did.

Carthage has a battle with Glen Rose but survives to advance to the show at Jerry World vs Wimberley........Longview plays today..........

I'm surprised that some college hasn't gone after Surratt, great coach and he has the Bulldogs near the top every year..........
