Texas High School Football

Did any of the committee members with a vote stay awake during the meeting?

Alto should play their season. Then, if they qualify for the playoffs, suit em up and show up at the field. Let the Buna Bozos have them removed. Hope the school district sues the UIL, deposes every member and employee who had any input on this decision. They may not win, but those depos could be lots of fun - six hours of burning hell (face to face no zoom, but then post the video)

Beau's dad Warren played OL at A&M, and was hardcore Aggie. Fortunately, he enjoyed golf more than aTm football. He could always leave school early as long as the principal could play as well.

For those that may remember, Warren was the HC of the CyFair team that allowed McQueen & Temple to score so CyFair could get the ball back with enough time to score and win the semi-final game. (I believe that was in Waco). Really a great guy. He's one of those guys that wanted it to be "traw han", not "trayhan").

Last I heard, Beau was on staff at Tulsa. Tough HS player and great special team guy on The Forty Acres.

Are you referring to the north mesquite game in 1987? Quarter final played in waco, cy fair defense laid on the ground to let NMHS score. Cy fair gets the ball back and wins at the buzzer.

Plano beat cy fair the following week to go to the state championship at DKR to beat Stratford

I was at all 3 of those games

Their HC came from Gary's staff at Katy HS (the cheering you hear in the background is Dion). Competition is about to be stiffer, and they have another new HC. They should make it interesting, but all that matters is that Tiger defense.

Isn’t it Aldine Westfield?

always confuses me too, that they start with the ISD not the town. Living in Lake Highlands and seeing my kids schedule as Richardson Lake Highlands, not Dallas Lake Highlands. But it makes sense.

Very reminiscence of that family that spanned West Columbia, Boling, Wharton, Columbus and produced really fast WR/RB. I think their string started in mid 60s and may have ended with Billy Waddy. Can't remember all the names, but the first one ran a 9.5 hundred; always confused him with Mel Gray.
