Texas-Bama Game Thread

Maybe I missed it, but a BIG credit and thank you to Sark for an INCREDIBLE game plan strategy to beat # 1 Bama today!

HOURS and hours went into keeping a very young team with as Frosh QB/ backup RS QB, green OL, D prepared, believing and executing this game plan!

Sark you are making me believe you are the ONE.

Sark's comment wasn't hyperbole. We were able to drive on them all game. I have no doubt we could have and would have driven down to kick the winning field goal.
It sounded like something a certain East Texas fanbase would say lol.

I still like him and hope he's the guy.

Is it better to lose THIS game by 1 like we did or 28?

Me thinks 1 is much more painful because we / you know Horns could have won... by 28 you accept they were a ton better and you really had no real chance.

Not wild about it, but there's a big difference between saying it about a single game and saying about EVERY SINGLE GAME YOU LOSE.
Yep, the ags lost to mighty App State today because they "ran out of time." How many games over the years (hundreds) have they lost? Each and every one of them because they just "ran out of time..."

The team has to be an adult group and put this game behind them and go win two games that they should. Hold the fort down till Quinn gets back and feed your backs the rock.

I've said for a long time that if the Aggies would just get their watches synched with the scoreboard clock they'd be a much more successful program.

I hate losing. But this team did everything possible to win. Depending on extent of injuries on Ewers and Card, don’t count this team out for the playoffs.

Dude was down. Moot point debating anything that happened beyond this pic.

Conversation and debate is now over.
Bad call.

Reggie Bush tweeted that this was the worst call he had ever seen.
I guess we could have challenged the play that he was down?

While I am with you here I will still point out the three trips inside Bamas ten and only getting 6 points.
And the dropped TD pass by Worthy.
Oddly enough, I felt we were the best team today.
Take advantage of all opportunities and we win by 21 or more.
Even with the bad calls and injuries.
It was Bama hanging around and keeping it close into the 4th quarter so they would have a chance to win.
I assumed that would be us.

I agree?

Ouch, I just saw Utah St score and they were getting killed by Weber st, I think it was Weber anyway. Do you think maybe Bama is overrated this year? I hope we come out smoking against UTSA.

That is a valid question. We thought Texas was back when they beat ND, Georgia, OU, with Dicker the Kicker, and took eventual NC LSU to overtime.

So, it's a valid question.

I don't think the missed FG was all the K's fault. As soon as I saw the snap, I said, "Uh-oh." It was a bit outside and Card had to reach and pull it in before he could try to turn the laces, just not enough time.

Had it been a bit high, he could have spun the laces while bringing it down.

At least, that's what slugga taught me.
o_O
Card was not the holder. It was one of the punters I think. Card replaced the holder today after the botch. Recall the holder messed it up last week too.

Yup Moon,

3 trips inside the 10... get 7 vs. 3 points ONE TIME, or Worthy catches sure TD pass, and the Horns win....

DEFENSE played their asses OFF today to keep the Horns in it to the end.

UT won first downs and TOP. Texas should have won given no TO’s in the game.

Ya know MeatHead I can’t say. I would personally think we have some great skill players this year but I’ve heard others talk about how ‘talented’ our players are every year and well,,,,,,,,you know how thats gone.

Just a reminder that offense is restricted inside the ten due to limited room to create space between receivers and defenders. The power game is much more important inside the ten. Also, Sanders was clearly undeniably interfered with on the first fade. Which would/should have given the Horns four more shots from the two.
Also, right now, the power game is our weakness due to inexperienced O linemen. Our two freshmen O linemen played well today, even though they could not push the big, experienced BAma D linemen and LB's off the ball with any consistency. Remember, Bama has arguably the best front seven defenders in the country. Bama's D backs are not slouches.

Our receivers are very good, and Worthy is outstanding. Whittington is almost as good as Worthy. We will score more than 19 against every other team we play this season if (BIG IF) our QBs can get and stay healthy. If today's D play is any indication, not many teams will outscore these Horns.

Can appreciate the skepticism. I want to see us Crush UTSA and get a quality win in Lubbock. But this is a far better group of players and coaches in my opinion.
