Texas-Bama Game Thread

It should be noted that Texas’ TE play was better than Bama’s. One of the reasons we would have won if Ewer had not been injured.

Garmin, look closely at that video again. I haven’t had the privilege of watching the tv coverage so it may be clear on that, but from that video it sure looks like Young’s right knee touched the ground when ducking under that blitz.

I saw many clips of this last night. As he ran onto the field to shake hands he yelled at his players, "Don't do that ****!!"

Saban gets slanged as Nick "Satan" - He's a Meanie!!! Yet when I've asked what people have issues with him about, they hem and haw and mumble something about how they read in the New York Simes (certainly my go to paper on college football!) that he oversigns.

As if 1. That's some horrible thing. 2. As if that's not something that you have to do as a coach with players changing their minds at the last minute, and you'd end up with un-used seats.

Maybe he does kick his dog behind closed doors, I don't know, but every time I've heard him speak in public he's been collected, respectful of the other team, and acts like a leader. I can think of about a dozen coaches who don't act like that.

Well said
and watching those Coaches who he gave chances to when no one else would even take their call, including Sark told me a lot about his character.

I agree. That knee looks like it’s touching turf. Would love to see another angle—from the side especially.

just saw our first drive. Murphy dropped that touchdown. Had been in both hands. probly catches that 4 out of 5 times. in fact, on the next drive he makes a diving catch on a long throw to the two yard line.

Sanders was mugged on his touchdown throw opportunity. Definitely interference.
Should have been first down at the two.

He did catch it, he was just out of bounds unless the ball hit the ground first.
he corralled/caught the ball yes. But when he hit the ground in the end zone, the ball popped out. Then he sled out of the end zone and then regained control. incomplete.

Did the ball touch the ground or was his hands underneath the ball?

mc?
Isn't that unusual?
Always before when teams from 2 different conferences play the officiating crew came from a different conference.

Did that change?
Edit I just read they were Big 12 refs. Things have changed .
My error

I see that now. My mistake
I have watched many many interconference games and usually there is a crew from yet another conference but it is not a rule.
Apparently Bama and Texas agreed to use home team's conference refs. Which means next year it will be SEC refs

I have not gotten to the end of re-watch to see this on the TV, but at the game I watched the Jumbotron replay very closely with that exact hope and it did not look like his knee touched. I was a half a stadium away, but that video screen is pretty dang big. But, I only saw it once.
