Stanford Super Stupid Regional

This guy throws 90% first pitch strikes and we just take em.

I think O’Dowd has swung at every first pitch he’s seen tonight but yeah, other than him, everyone has and 90% sounds about right. amazing how well your outing looks when you work ahead of batters

Wtf did he try the footrace for a couple seconds before belatedly tossing it? Did he think he might run faster than the ball could go?

We are falling apart with unforced mistakes here. Surprised we pulled the pitcher after a fielding mistake there, but I guess it got us the last out.

Better to have the Stanford pitcher finish a complete game tonight than to have him available tomorrow.

Quinn Matthews will likely end up being some sort of cripple because of this game, but I suppose it will be worth it because he will be a Stanford legend

The Stanford starter goes the distance. My hat is off to him. However, 150+ pitches? What does that say about the coaching and confidence in the bullpen? We will find out tomorrow.

It’ll be interesting tomorrow. I’m curious if Pierce adjusts the lineup. Also curious about the pitching selections.

We need to play well obviously, but we don’t need miracle performances. I’m less confident in the hitting than the pitching. Good thing that matters not.

Well, it all comes down to the rubber game.

We have a number of arms available, including the following, who are among the most likely to take the mound:

Witt
Whitehead
Morehouse
Lummus
