Stanford Super Stupid Regional

That was a very tough way to end the game and season. My main peeve is the Stanford player who hit the pop fly running around banging his chest repeatedly like he came through in the clutch. He didn't. He's young and was elated to win so I'll cut him some slack. But it was bush league.
Stanford had players that I would not normally equate with Stanford, more like players off the street vs upper class.

I think of Stanford as the Rice U. of California. Aside from top athletes in certain sports, they're all about brains. That and hi-tech entrepreneurship. I think they were a model for the IC2 stuff and what Kozmetsky (and others) did with Austin--the I-35 hi-tech corridor and its connection with University research.

The school for the rich kids out there is Pepperdine (and USC).

This loss did not break my heart the way some are portraying it. Not necessarily here on this board, but more in the media. Yeah, it was a crappy way to lose the game, but it's not like we were ahead and only needed that last out to go to Omaha. Plus, for about 22 of the 27 innings over the entire series, I felt like Stanford was the better team. They were certainly more aggressive than us at the plate, about even with us on pitching. We were better on defense, but we had to be to keep it close. They gave the game away on Friday or we would not even be talking about what happened Monday.

Not trying to take anything away from our guys, they did great to keep up with Stanford and have a shot at the win, I just thought overall the Indians were the better group. Therefore, the loss did not "crush my soul", as some are saying.

Dylan needs his bank account investigated. WTF. Don't give me this BS he didn't see it, he tracked right to it and gave up. He called off CF as well cause he was tracking it and let up. This is worse than Buckner. I'm so pissed.
Accusing a player of getting paid to lose a game should get a poster suspended, imo.
That is unacceptable.

Yeah Stanford had a leg up most of the time. Overall, they were likely the better team.

But we had more, better pitching options left. They were down to their last legitimate arm.

I’m a bit sentimental about this group. I appreciate their season. I’m not a huge ‘respect’ guy, but I do think this team is underappreciated. Not necessarily about how they finished but more about the fact that some were surprised they made it this far and were this close to the CWS.
