Something Interesting Thread

I just realized that this is my second post involving Norway. The first one was about that crazy boulder suspended between the rocks on that Norwegian mountain. I am forced to conclude that Norway is interesting.
Your conclusion about Norway is correct. I lived in Stavanger, Norway and worked on the docks as a longshoreman and later for Mobil Oil in late spring and summer of '75. It is a beautiful country, the folks are cordial and most speak English very well. Great place to visit, but it is cold there even in the summer, but in the summer, in the southern part of the country, the sun only skirts the horizon for about an hour at night (if you can call it night), then comes up again. The light show in the sky is excellent. Winter is the opposite. It's a fun, laid back place, but it is expensive.

Wow, wonder what pissed them off and they sure go for the back bone. Just think how much energy those brutes expended on that, amazing. I wonder how far away the photographer was?

Do we need a poll to decide which Horn Fan this is?

Edit to add. The tweet was a black cat with white markings not so subtly asking for a head rub( and getting it). An interesting display of how pets rule us. Not sure why tweet was deleted.
We know who on here has a black cat with white markings.

The Surface of Venus

Photo by the Soviet Venera-14 lander on March 5, 1982. This lander was able to function in the harsh environment for 57 minutes.

If the atmosphere of Venus doesn’t instantly burn up a spacecraft, it will crush it. The Venera-13 holds the honor of lasting longest on Venus, surviving for an impressive 127 minutes.

The temperature at the time of this photo was 869º F (465º C) and the atmospheric pressure 94 bar.

The Venera program was the name given to a series of space probes developed by the Soviet Union between 1961 and 1984 to gather information about the planet Venus. More at wikipedia.

Are you certain that isn't Lubbock right before a sandstorm?

Sangre first thing I thought was how ticked off I am when I drop a bolt or something while I’m on a ladder.
I have to say it, why a woman to do this? Men all scared? Amazing feat.
