Something Interesting Thread

Was not sure where to put this one. Yes, that is Lt. Clark Gable with the 8th Air Force (US Army Air Corps). Check out the .50 caliber rounds. For his service, he received a DFC and an Air Medal among other decorations.

All of that architecture is amazing. They make the stuff we do today look boring.
The other day I was looking at photos of the world’s most beautiful libraries. I think I’ll post some of those soon. I don’t know if anything like that is still being made anywhere but those spaces are just stunningly gorgeous and majestic. Almost sacred looking.

The Gaffney peach is now surrounded by development, which has ruined the effect.
 
What is interesting about the water towers to me is the effort they took to make something so utilitarian look pleasing and even beautiful.
