The Ukraine transcript does no such thing. Even the dems gave up on that ****. :p . The good people Trump was referring to were the ones who supported keeping our history/statues but were not affiliated with the Klan.

We would need a lot less if they were so damn tough everyone was scared as hell to go into one. Problem is our prison systems are f'in vacation spots for these animals, there they get free healthcare, free meals, hell they even get paid to be there. As far as I'm concerned they should be no bars no cages just a big *** area where they can all kill each other. You go in and likely won't come out. If guards see someone get out line, they shoot no questions no rubber bullets.
 
Our Federalism does not give the federal gov't general police powers. That is reserved to the states. Federal agents need not wear uniforms (they can be undercover), but their purpose is to protect federal property and employees, and to enforce federal laws. If a state wants to de-criminalize all sorts of aberrant behavior, its not up to the feds to come in there and sort things out for them--unless they are enforcing federal laws or protecting federal property and employees. Federal law includes federal civil rights laws, so there's some wiggle room there.

If martial law was declared in Portland, it would be a different story. Also the National Guard may be afforded more leeway in what they do—the governor can deploy the state’s Nat’l Guard within the state (although it is military). I do not believe the agents at issue are in the National Guard or that martial law has been declared. If a state sucks because it is a lawless zone of anarchy--it's up to the state to fix itself, and up to the residents to recall and/or vote in better politicians. It will correct itself.

It would be unwise to further nationalize state functions because Oregon can't get its sh!t together.

You have to be willfully ignorant to believe that. Just watch the news and its obvious. Don't confuse the mayhem and chaos they cause with not being organized. They organize in order to produce destruction and fear in the public. They doing a good job of it too, at least where they are allowed to.

Barry, just because a group doesn't have bylaws, named officials, and charters doesn't mean it isn't organized and certainly doesn't mean it isn't dangerous. Somebody is organizing this stuff. There are names of real people behind the Twitter accounts. Furthermore, somebody is funding them. Criminal enterprises that engage in violence usually don't like to name names and write stuff down.
