San Diego

Game 2. Hurley off to a slow start. 1-0 them on a few base hits and a passed ball.

2nd inning he’s got them putting the ball on the ground and letting Powell and Flores take care of business.

Hurley’s got to keep the lid on the SD offense and keep us in the game until our bats ignite.

Hurley put some nice sauce on the ball to strike out the first batter. Inning 3

Now a fly out. 2 away. Nobody on base.

And a ground out!

3 up
3 down

for Charlie Hurley and the Texas D in the top of the 3rd.

How do y’all like that sauce Tumis puts on his pitches? Tumis’ breaking balls defy the laws of physics.

Arghhhh. Brown caught the ball but fumbled it when grabbing the ball out of his glove to make the throw. Run scores. 2 outs.

Now Thomas makes a play for the third out.

3-2 us.

Tumis was getting a lot of swings and misses. His control looked only so-so. Also, he’d leave a ball hanging up in the zone when he had 2 strikes and was ahead in the count. Coaching and experience will help his pitching smarts.

But you just can’t coach the kind of rpms Tumis must spin those breaking pitches to make them move like that.

What’s this ??????????

Gaspaino strikes out.
Galvan steals second but Gasparino called with interference….!?!?!?!

Pierce does not appear to be delighted with the situation. .

Now Pierce is having a few words with the ump about the proper scope of the Marbury decision. Pierce seems to be rather passionate about his interpretation.

Luke Harrison is back on the mound after his 2022 injury. Good to have home back. He was very reliable and accurate before his injury.

Thomas. K

Powell. Fly out.

Flores. Hard ground out to pitcher

On to the 7th. 3-2 us.

Damn it looks cold there.
I volunteered at a national soccer tourney in Frisco today.
Games started at 8am. It was 23 wind chill.
