What's not correct? That is exactly the flow of the thread. I made a statement, later expanded on it and then you later want to claim I made an absolutist remark originally after it was clear what I intended? That's not "holding (anyones) feet to the fire" but rather trolling because it was clear what I meant. Thank you for self identifying as a troll. I'll put that opinion in the same place your claim that masks are 0% effective, ever, in limiting and respiratory illness spread. It's the antithesis of logic. Ignorance masquerading as intellect.
It wasn't clear. I was clear that you moved the goal posts. If realizing that and calling you on it is trolling, then anybody who responds to you is a troll.
You never explained that what you meant was broader than just masks. You just changed your statement abruptly.
My .02. Both ROK and Japan have a bit more collectivist culture. Mask wearing for them was already part of the culture. They don't wear them to protect themselves as much as the people around them. So, all the recommendations to limit the spread (mask-up, social distancing) were natural to those cultures.
Additionally, they don't have the obesity issues that the US has. Still, their populations are significantly older so they had that going against them. My BIL's wife lost 2 grandparents to COVID in Japan. Still, there is a reverence and desire to protect their elders that simply is on another level compared to the US. Those countries largely house their elderly with family rather than nursing homes which also is a factor in their favor.
I'm sorry. I thought you wanted attention since you jumped into a conversation you weren't a party in then proceeded to claim your gif wasn't intended exactly as it was intended. So, I was giving you affirmation. Was there a different affirmation you'd like? Happy to oblige. Personal attack? I haven't levied any epithets at you. I'm hoping to assuage your anger, give you some positive attaboys.
I tend to value legal advice on this board from other lawyers a bit more. Of course, it all depends on how much WSU simply wants Rolo to go away or will they fight. Of course, this case may have significant ramifications for ~1,400 Washington State employees that chose to retire or were fired so there may be significant incentive to fight Rolo as far as his pocketbook will take him.
Don't care who you choose to value. But people like you were also claiming Gruden would get nothing...but guess what...he is getting a pretty good go-away package.
I doubt he walked away with the $70M he was owed. It's doubtful we'll ever get the details but I'm certain some sort of severance package was agreed upon. $70M is a lot of enchiladas to walk away from even with a "morals" clause in his contract.
I'd wager that the Raiders agreed to pay him for the remainder of the 2021 season ($10m/yr) to get him to go away.
Rolovich isn't a first year coach. He is pretty comfortably set and probably doesn't mind dropping six figures to get a hefty two comma check in return...
He would have netted at least $11M so far. And at least $1M/year is media commitments which I'm guessing WSU isn't on the hook for. Rolo has a good nest egg to pursue some money but would be racking up lawyer costs along the way. Again, this is all a PR game. If WSU is willing to bear the brunt of the PR hit and the wrath of some anti-vax alumni, then they have the law on their side.
- Year 1: $8 million
- Year 2: $6 million
- Year 3: $5 million
- Year 4: $2 million
- Year 5 and beyond: $1 million
The lawsuit's coming:
Lawyer for Nick Rolovich calls WSU coach's firing 'unjust and unlawful'
Nick Rolovich plans lawsuit vs. WSU over COVID vaccine mandate firing
"Pope Francis and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops have stated that all COVID-19 vaccines are morally acceptable and that Catholics have a duty, responsibility or obligation to be vaccinated. However, some Catholics still oppose vaccination."
"— We’re not sure how deep Rolovich’s religious convictions run, but we hear Pope Francis is a pretty religious guy. He not only approves of the COVID vaccine but has advocated for it."
Chop's 2 pesos (and that's about what it's worth...):
Courts should reject the reasoning that, because a person is a member of a certain denomination, he or she must share all the official doctrinal beliefs of that denomination. A person's religious beliefs are often deeply personal, and while he may believe in the core beliefs of his denomination, he may also have his own personal religious beliefs that differ from some official dogma or another. That sounds like Rolovich's situation. To hold otherwise, means the freedom of religion only applies to the official stated dogma of formal, organized religion. That cannot be the law.
And here's the real reason for the firing...at the end of the day: "Defying Inslee’s order in any fashion could have massive political and financial ramifications for the university."
Yep, Pope Francis wears the red shoes too!
If you know you know! He may be the Pope, he does NOT represent ANYONE'S religious beliefs.
Throughout Church history, the color red has been deliberately chosen to represent the blood of Catholic martyrs spilt through the centuries following in the footsteps of Christ. The red papal shoes are also linked to Christ’s own bloodied feet as he was prodded, whipped, and pushed along the Via Dolorosa on his way to his crucifixion, culminating in the piercing of his hands and feet on the cross. The red shoes also symbolize the submission of the Pope to the ultimate authority of Jesus Christ. Beyond this, it is said the red papal shoes also signify God’s burning love for humanity as exhibited during Pentecost when red vestments are worn to commemorate the decent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles as tongues of fire rest upon their heads.
